Ok, my system, I believe, should be able to run FSX reasonably well with SP1 installed, but it relly doesn't! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Currently I have Motherboard Asus P5N32E-SLi, a Quad Core 6600, G0 stepping running at 3.2GHz, 2GB PC-8500 Ram,2x 8800 GTS (G92) in Sli and a Soundbalster X-Fi Elite Pro.

I have hardly tweaked any settings, and am currently running FSX (with the scenery patch and SP1 installed) at 1024x768.....and still only get between 7-12 FPS?????

I don't get it. I hear everyone saying that SP1 now gives them useable frame-rates, I don't have masses of planes in the air, just 1 helicopter a few mountains and snow covering...and I get 7 FPS.

Can anyone help me out here with a suggestion as to what the heck I'm doing wrong?

In the Nvidia control panel I am using Trilinear filtering, 8xAA and 8xAF that's it.

Now for the altitude.

Taking off in a Helicopter I can reach about 500-1000ft, and that's it, even with full throttle I cannot climb any higher. What am I missing?

Cheers, MP.

I have no idea but maybe set SLI to alternate frame rendering in nvidia control panel? I had better FPS than that using a single 7600GS videocard with sp1 (no AA or AF tho) so something MUST be wrong indeed.

what nvidia driver are you running - have you tried 171.23? were your framerates as bad before sp1? there have been a few bad reports about sp1's effect on some game content.

first thoughts on low frame rate is its something to do with the nvidia profile for fsx- possibly afr/sfr related? don't have nvidia let alone 2 so can't really offer much help other than that.

an old tweak guide
-it's pre sp1 and some of the config tweaks are no longer relevant- particularly time fiber fraction. make backups before playing around http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
might help explain some of the settings tho.
check light bloom?

if you want a really silly tune up for fsx try this
i actually use this to get more 'smoothness' on an old(for fsx) rig- fx57x1800xt. the defrag procedure really helped me with scenery loading stutters.

not much up on choppers but what difficulty levels are you using?

look at this part of your config file:

look at the top line, this means its using both cores in my computer try using:

this should help
