I've found almost four dozen error messages inside my IL2 main folder. The ##'s represent all the different numbers at the end of the title of each one. Here's a sample of what's inside these text files:

An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION occurred at PC=0x5e664bc9
Function name=(N/A)

NOTE: We are unable to locate the function name symbol for the error
just occurred. Please refer to release documentation for possible
reason and solutions.

Does Anyone have any idea what all this means, and why I'd have dozens and dozens of very similar text files appearing?

Bumpin' this since it doesn't seem to want to appear on the main page immediately. Thanks.

Hey! I got the same things too! Wonder what they are? Maybe I'll go to community help for this.

Whadda You know there is already a thread there

Those are error logs that il2fb.exe (guessing here) writes whenever it doesn't exit normally.
For instance, I've got right now one: hs_err_pid292.log

That would mean that the Process ID (PID) assigned to il2fb.exe at the time it had a crash was 292. PIDs are how the Operating System (XP in my case) keeps track of which programs (processes) are running.

As to what's inside the log, the Java threads and dynamic libraries (dll's) are supposedly the clues the program can give about what it was doing at the time of crashing.

I don't worry much about them, generally, unless IL2 is crashing repeatedly (wich I've had very rarely, usually only when I overclocked the graphics card too much).

So I'd suggest, look at the timestamps of those files, if they're not happening quite repeatedly (and you would have noticed that), don't worry about them. However, if there's something that you would think is caused by a bug in IL2, I'm sure 1C:Maddox would like to have a look at those files, together with your bug report.

Hope that helped http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

That helps tremendously. I'll take a good look and them, and figure out whether I should send this info to the designers.
