I was reading on a skinning site that FB wasn't able to take in sheen and light effect on paint. I wouldn't say this is still true for PF, I've viewed plenty of externals with the sun bouncing off wings into my eyes, but, maybe I'm seeing something else...?

Lighting intensity works, but highlights and reflections aren't implemented except on some glass parts (particularly the inside of some cockpit canopies).

Honestly, it should maybe not be modelled.

Was flying Ki~84 last night after sunset over Kuban mountains, the ground below was dark until I turned just right against the western twilight sky and the "canopy reflection" started up and made the whole terrain below light up bright as day.
