I have an older graphics card (an NVidia 6800GT 256 MB card) and recently reinstalled Pacific Fighters. I followed the correct patch order and changed my config.ini so that Hardware Shaders =1 and water =3, and also made sure that OpenGL was selected. When I start the game and go to video options it will not allow me to select perfect landscape (it's greyed out). Does anyone have any idea what is going on or how to fix it. Also, when I go back into config.ini, it has changed the hardware shader and water options back to default. I know that I've had success with this in the past and I'm just wondering what the heck happened since I've had it on my computer in the past.

I think u have to be running the game in opengl mode. To do this run setup and then chose opengl instead of directx.

I've met all of those criteria, but it still won't allow me to choose perfect mode.

The HardwareShaders=1 line in the config.ini is the same as going in and turning on Perfect mode from the control panel. If by doing this (and not going into the control panel) and it still doesn't work...that means you haven't configured one of the requirements yet.

Might be time to post your config.ini.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

This is what my config.ini looks like when I start PF, but it resets the hardware shaders and water options under openGL render options every time....

Yes, I go in to select perfect mode, but it is greyed out...I have tried just starting a mission, but there is no improvement in the graphics. I'm just trying to figure out why I can't select perfect landscape when I'm doing everything I've done in the past...

Good news and bad news...I uninstall the NVidia drivers (again) and ran driver cleaner, then reinstalled the newest drivers (93.71) and voila! I have perfect landscape and beautiful water. Now for the bad news...apparently I now have the textured circle under my plane that plagues a lot of people...any suggestions?

I used to run Perfect mode in IL-2 with my rig, but now with 1946, there is No Perfect mode.
I run a Radeon 9800 Pro with XT Chip. I have NO problems at all and the picture/screen looks real nice. I just no longer have Perfect mode to choose from.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Try running IL-2Setup.exe and select your video card again. That might fix the problem.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

OK, I got everything working the way it's supposed to now...I uninstalled the 93.71 drivers and installed the 91.31 drivers from Guru3D. Now I have perfect water =3 and no black arc or artifacts.

I Found the problem and fixed it:

When I installed 1946 my conf.ini file had shaders=0.. I had to change it to shaders=1. That brought back my Perfect setting for Video.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
