Even though I find this (except for Ta 152 perhaps) the ugliest plane of the 190 series, to please my friends here at the forums I've made this drawing of FW 190D-9.

It's slightly distorted because of the camera angle. I'm still not entirely satisfied, but maybe I'll give it another go. FWs are pencil, background charcoal.

{edit} Removed unstable link.

Hello, Jeroen

Can you pls try it one more time, as it cannot be seen. Try different server. I draw planes a lot myself (also with pencils and from time to time charcoal) and I will post some pictures in the future, after I scan them.

Thnx

Hi TT,

Netscape had some problems in the past, but apperently solved them... Only to have them re-appear again!

Sometimes re-loading the page works, but I've uploaded it at imageshack now:

Hopefully this is more stable... Look forward to seeing your drawings.
I have even less time now then I used to have, since got a girlfriend recently http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

LOL...I have an old sketch book from over 20 years ago with some of my old drawings in it. I'll see if I can scrounge them up.

Thanks for the kind words http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I'm not satisfied with the lower part of the background, and the 190s could be a little darker too. Maybe I'll correct this one, maybe I'll just make a new one... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

TB, I know the feeling (although my book was only 10 years old), I found an old drawing of an F-4G Wild Weasel and was amazed at how accurate it was... Like now, shading was not my best part!

@ jeroen_R90S

Good work. But here is a little tip......

Look around you, whatever you see there are no lines around it. Avoid making outer lines in your painting to paint the shape of the Objekt. Try to paint only with shadows and textures.

Hope you could understand what i mean. Pleas excuse my english, it has been a long time since i`ve been in school.

Greetings

Updated version... Wasn't really satisfied and no-one seemed to miss a prop on both planes either (like me!)

@ Hetzer: Thanks for your comments ~the lines are indeed too visible. I've used shading to tone them down. In the version you see here now, it's giving the disired effect better.
Choices, choices, I should sketch lighter http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I've not done much with B/W, so I'll keep practising. If anyone likes this one sufficiently I'm willing to give it away for postage costs only... Don't like the Dora anyway, so it'll never be on my wall and will only collect dust! *runs away for angry mob* http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Or if more are interested (yeah right) I could make reproduction for costs only and mail that.

the airintake is on the wrong side, the D9's had it on the left IIRC.

Are you sure?
In your sig, it's on the right as well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Since the D-9 to 13 are Jumo213 powerde, they have the supercharger-intake at the rightern side.

DB-engines (D-14 and 15, as well as Ta152C) have their intakes at the left.

Pfew! Glad I did it right, although deleting is usually easier then adding. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I made this free hand (of course with reference pics), so I did not 'copy' a picture or so...
