Just want to say Hi, its my first time posting. I like everyone else here cannot wait for AC2 but I see alot of people complaining about the colour scheme of Florence from the GC gamplay walkthrough.

You notive that the colour is very red/pink as this looks to me as if it is dawn, the reason being is that when he comes up from the underground catacomb you see Florence in a different colour scheme which is in full sunlight.

Just wanted to get that across.....coz I think from what I seem the day/night cycle looks sweet...thanks for reading...

Let me know your thoughts!!!

You are absolutely right. This is the sunny Florence.

Anyway, here is a comparision. To he left is how it really looks like, and to the right is how I think it should look like. Just an opinion.

What do you mean by should look like? Like in real life? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Because, it's a bit like photo, you'll almost never find photo that look exactly like your eye would see, because artist are pushing the colours, adding layers to give more personality.

Here we can tell that your nicely edited image is colder, sharper and the other one is more warm, vibrant and dense. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I just love the way it is right now, and how all cities change and evolve with day/night cycle http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Hmm remember that this are screenshots of (not full res) movies... And again I just like the colors how they are now... AC2 has a lot more color variety then AC1...

Maybe there will be colorfilters. They were already in AC1.

I didn't really mind the way Florence looked when I first watched the video. It looked just fine to me.

I love the detail put into the land outside the walls. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

@Cornik. I like how your version adds more variety to the color scheme. It especially stands out on the tree.

Have you been to Florence? Because I have, and the pic on the left is much more accurate to the color scheme of the city.

On a side note if anyone here ever goes to Florence in the future make sure to check this (http://fssweb.berry.edu/%7Ebcarroll/florence/gelato.html) place out. The wife and I decided it's the best gelato in Italy. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

That's a bold statement, Choopius! I'd beg to differ, but I didn't go to that Gelato shop when I was in Florence.

The best Gelato I've had was in Rome, right around the corner from the Pantheon. Although, I was a bit disappointed that I could get it cheaper in Germany, though. D: I mean, Gelato is FROM ITALY! Oi.

Anyway. My $.02 >>

Interesting fact: in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW7-dU43mnk), if you look very closely at the 0:18 mark you can see the color scheme of the city change, as well as the angle of the shadows. Its seems the passage of time isn't constant, but segmented and locks to certain intervals throughout the day. Each interval has its own color scheme (slight variations) and shadow angle.

I think the day/night cycle is wicked. The hazy warm redness is the sky with the dust on the streets...with the break of strong light from the sun in the GC gameplay is great....

Ah, the sunset of the demo tricked me into thinking that there would be a strong reddish hue.

Well, I guess I'll always be playing at sunset then. I hope there's an option to pass the time.

I hope there are some missions that force you to tackle them at certain times, else I'd probably be playing the whole game at night. I like variety but I can't help being as Ninja as possible.

There will be night & day missions...I remember reading that when they announced the day/night cycle....

ya I remember reading that. Just like the mission shown at Gamescom, where Ezio wasn't allowed to be seen during the assassination, there will probably be missions where you must attack him in the evening as he goes home from work... or something like that...
