Miniature spits (http://www.spitfire.org/replica.htm) here.

Tho, I don't see the point of having a 80% scale flyable replica - why not just get the real thing?

Maintainance and Parts as well as hangar space probly.

You can put a brand new, easy-to-find-parts-for engine in a scale version.

1)Smaller is cheaper. ("Million-dollar Baby", a 1/2 scale Mustang replica that flies out where I live was named that because that was how much it cost to build it.)

2) Real warbirds are a lot harder to fly than civilian planes. They are inherently less stable in some ways because they need to make violent manuevers quickly and civilian aircraft are made to do the opposite. A small scale version is easier to handle because of differences in weight distribution, wing area ratio, and engine torque.
