Hello!

I own a Gainward Geforce Fx5600 Ultra.
I'm using 44.03 whql driver.

This driver gives me the best benchmarking result in 3dmark 2001.
i get about 1000 points more than with newer drivers like 53.03.
44.03 +11 000 points
53.03 +10 000 points

Does the benchmark show me that Il-2 FB will benefit from the 44.03 driver or will the Fps be better with newer drivers?

My problem with the 53.03 driver is that It sometimes show me an error :
"sentinel has noticed that graphic card has insufficient power and will lower speed settings"

this must be a bug because my card and fan works fine.

Have a nice day!

The 53.03 is not a 'whql or supported' driver from Nvidia. The 44.03 drivers had some optimizations in it that help benchmarking....if anyone remembers that fiasco a year ago.

In any event the most compatible driver is the 45.23 (non-fx cards)/45.33 (FX cards) with the perfect water and shaders.

Benchmarks are generally not a be all end all for gaming. More a max stability tool

Um. BUZZER!
<pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">
Version: 53.03
Release Date: December 9, 2003
WHQL Certified
</pre>

The 53.03 FX branch is indeed WHQL certified, and the AEP magically makes Perfect setting work again with older TI4xxx cards from nVIDIA, which is kinda odd, since Oleg stated it was nVIDIA's problem, and nVIDIA hasn't released a new WHQL since 53.03, and the addon--well, it all of a sudden works again! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I recommend 53.03 or whichever driver gives you the best performance. Use FRAPS to determine, though, the benchmarking may not always give you the correct results.
