I have had an X-45 for well over a year and its never been out of the box. I keep waiting for my Sidewinder Precision Pro to die and it never does. I have been using it since 1998. I love the twisty stick and I'm so used to keyboard commands that I hardly ever look anymore.

I put 4.01 on and it was gone the very same day. I hate the constant trimming and I hate the ground effects. I'm still on 3.04m. Eventually, I know I will have to move up to get the maps, planes and offline campaigns, but for now, I'm having a ball. And I've been at Il-2 for about 3 years now.

You are crazy. USe the x-45 so you can trim with the rotaries....which makes things far easier. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I have been playing briefly with X45 on PF v3.04m, before that I used some lesser quality Genius joystick (which was surprisingly good). I wasn't impressed, also shortly after that I purchased Cyborg EVO and it was better for me (of course rocker rudder was the main issue). Since then I'm using EVO. Currently my X45 is collecting dust.

Best thing would probably be to buy a pair of pedals + X45.

How can you guys play this game without force feedback? Don't you know when you're about to stall? With force feedback you can feel it.

I have gotten force feedback recently, but it doesn't warn me of a stall. I get buffeting when I'm close to the ground, or rolling on the ground.

How do I get the stall buffeting effect ? Or does it only work on some types of stalls with some types of planes ? I've flown the Corsair and Bf-109G series with force feedback.

I've got a cheap Saitek, a '3D' I think it's called.

Why don't you guys that don't like the x45 and prefer other sitck simply use it togheter with that nice throttle, leaving the x45 stick under the desk or as a button bay?

lighten up, pal.

I have used MSFFB and it was problematic at best. Audio percussion is much more immersive than some twitchy solinoid majiger.

I can feel the MG's in my chest, hands, and feet with the subwoofer and suroundsound pumped up. But thanks for playing.

Use the rotaries and mini-stick you must. Like falling off a log, trim will be. Assign keystrokes to neutral trim you will. Safety net they are
