I'm so chuffed at this shot... Set my time-compression max=256, and when any action happens, it winds down to 1x.
So it happens, instant crash dive.... after a few minutes, pick up a ship about 35 kms away. then I see it on the map http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif. Set an intercept course and pick it up sometime later at bearing=78. P-Scope depth at full speed.

But the little 'tramp' is moving away at medium speed, zigzagging maybe, but I continue at full speed. At bearing=30, I'm still miles away (~5Km). So I setup a 2 torp spread shot, AOB=100, Torp speed=medium, Impact, Depth=3m.
I was way off line, and the torps ran for 'hours' when suddenly....

Out came the trumpets....TRALALALALALALLLLAAAAAAA..
Now I settled down to monitor the sinking.. TeddyBar- here are the timings...

4 minutes later the NA says it going down..

One can see the ship (that dot) on the horizon - Trust me, this was a Lonnnnngggg shot http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Finally at 12:16 it goes down... It does seem to take this amount of time to sink - Tramp Steamers that is!

And the log info...

Hope this helps..

GK.. this is TeddyBar's 'Grandmother' mod..

TeddyBar.. another thing I noticed is that even after the ship Hydrophone revs had stopped, this ship was still moving at speed. I was making course corrections to keep it on one bearing.

In rough weather the heading of your sub will slowly drift. Keeping a close eye on your heading and bearing to target, it looks like the ship is about still.

This drifting happens even if you are moving and can make a big difference. I have seen upwards of 10 degrees after ~20 minutes.
