Somebody said that carrier pilots were the best in the world, and they must be or there wouldn't be any of them left alive.

I was fortunate enough to visit the Lexington about 3 years ago.

It was a wonderful exhibit, although they were fighting off the rust in a lot of the areas of the ship. It's parked in the bay off od Corpus Cristi, and the salt air is really having it's way with the boat.

Still, you can almost feel the presence of her crew from long ago. By today's standards, the ship is small compared to the super carriers, but still it is quite inspiring to walk her flight deck and visit her many compartments.

I recommend a visit to her if you are in the area.

Been to the Yorktown and Intrepid .
Was traveling north and saw the sign for the Yorktown coming home from vacation long time ago.
Thought a qiuck look would be worth it.
Was there for 2 and a half hours and still needed more time to see all the sights. Damned CV is big. The time was well worth it.
The Intrepid display was nice .but enjoyed the Yorktown more.
