Want to bet?

Crysis had pi$$ poor coding and I am more than sure SOW's coding will be much better once its released. Just have to wait like the rest of us and found out what are the best set ups for the money and go from there. Building your own will be much cheaper.

I highly doubt anyone can play Crysis on full settings on a 9500GT graphics card. The rest of that pc is fine but the graphics card is really crappy, not even when it was new was that card meant for gaming, now it's three generations old.

You will be able to play SOW with that rig, but you won't be able to play it anywhere near full settings. Especially with that video card.

Personally I would buy nothing less that a four core cpu @ 3 gigs, 6 gigs of memory, and a top of the line video card to really enjoy SOW.

Cray used to make nice computers. You might look at what they have to offer.

Since Storm of War isn't even in beta yet it's hard for even Oleg's team to know what the final system requirements will be. The requirements will probably be decent but the recommended configuration will probably be very high.

I'd recommend... purely because it's the top of the line that you go with a top line Core i7 quad core with 4, 6 or 8 GB of DDR 3 RAM and a Radeon HD 5870 or 5970 (top of the line). That's a fair bit of expensive kit there but that should make Storm of War go well... probably. No guarantees http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

If you can't afford all of that... maybe it's a good idea to wait it out and see what comes. If you can't then either aim for the top or just one down from the top.

Nice SoW updates today, a new movie would be really convincing. My prediction for a 2010 SoW release: prepare yourself for a rerun of the RoF release (though without that crummy DRM).

That may very well be the case, which frankly would be fine by me. SoW in our hands sooner, constant updates (you know Oleg and crew would work faster than the RoF team), money to Oleg NOW so development continues. The only downside to that model would be all the whiners, lol.

If you are thinking of getting the latest greatest GFX card WAIT

Unless you have the money burning a hole in your pocket and you want it now...

If you wait till SOW comes out I am sure the Latest and Greatest GFX card of last week will be offered at a much lower price.

My advice to you is to wait until SOW comes out then build your computer. All those hot parts you see today will be much cheaper.

There is no reason to buy a $400 gfx card today when in 3 or 4 mths it will be available for $150. Unless you have the money to just throw around...

now guys SOW is not THAT late .. look at Starcraft II its been in development since 2002/2003 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif .. and lets not talk about Duke Nukum :P

If you can wait though you will do better. the new Sandy bridge processors are apparently going to be quite a step up from the current i5/i7 line.

Jet Thunder is so late that if it ever comes out it is in danger of looking dated before it hits the shelves. I am sure that they are concerned about this.

SOW won't have the problem of being dated when it finally comes out. Olegs problem is computers arn't good enough yet for what he wants to accomplish.

How he going to get a highly detailed terrain, large aircraft formations, AI, moving weather systems, DM, and very large detailed map working with playable frame rates is beyond me. I suppose some details will have to wait until later addons when computers can handle them.
