Wasn't this the aircraft that, a couple years ago, was on the news when the wings fell off during one of those California runs?

I believe this plane is based north of Vancouver B.C.

An amazingly pretty plane: very clean lines.

Are you thinking of this C-130 crash?

Gates,

I may be wrong, but that picture looks fake. The scale of the vegetation in the picture looks way off.

Here's the website for the company that operates them:

Good hunting,

Its not fake, a friend I ride motocross with took it, he lives near Lake Elsinore. Trust me its not doctored I got it from the source. Those weeds are 15 ft from the camera so yeah it looks close but the plane is a good 150-200 meters away from the lens.

See also this great video taken from one of the bird dog planes. There are also some BC fire service planes depicted. (I recommend volume be set at zero!)

Nice shots Waldo. I think the planes are stationed on Vancouver Island.

I am sure I saw footage of a water bomber from Quebec also down in California fighting the fires...

Yup, these babies are based only a few miles from my place. Watched them fly around all summer, what a great sound they make. Have to get out to the base on open house day.

A Beauty of a Bird... Great photos.

Must be something riding in the cockpit seat of the Mars while flying down low... hairs on the back of your neck must get a bit stiff. Wow! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Wicked
