in the subsim review i really thought the waves and storm looked very convincing . however hard to see on screenshots alone , it seemed to the waves looked somewhat small . offcourse the waves are good for a moderate storm . but in real storms waves are a lot larger . will we see larger waves in sh3? or is this the largest we will see.

The waves I saw during the demo seemed larger.

Does anyone know the maximum height of waves permissable to surface a u-boat? Over a certain height the force of them could 'snap' the sub in half. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/cry.gif

that would have to be some wave. Are there any recorded incidents of this happening? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/sonar.gif

The dev team mentions this about storms ---

In case one is stupid enough to send out the deck gun crew in this weather they would wash off the deck immediately and drown. Definitely not good for morale.

the video looks so freakin awsome , i dare to say it allmost looks better then das boot ! . but still the waves look pretty small . can it be that sh3 will have 3 sea states ? 1 normal with some small waves . 2 moderate waves as seen in the video . and 3 very big waves? i wonder.

The U.Kdt.Hdb does list the maximum sea permissible for surfaced and submerged torpedo attack.

for submerged:
small boats= Sea 5to6
medium/large boats= 6-7

for surfaced:
somewhat less rough(so I would estimate)
small=4-5
medium/large=5-6

Also, it says that in rough seas you will have better luck attacking parallel to the waves.

the video is ABSOLUTELY stunning and i can't wait to play this freakin game. Finaly someone is making such simulator that i have dreamed of long time ago...the only thing i noticed in this video are the smaller waves - at least for a storm...i can't wait to see them bigger - but this of course isn't of that importance even if they won't be bigger.

the videos crazy altogether,the way things are looking i would pay twice the price to get my hands on the game.
The game is going to be a masterpiece.
