Thought I'd share my first Duxford Digital shots.
Some what rushed due to the pack of Cub Scouts we were with, daughter and son were earning their 'Air' badge.

I'll try and add some titles later, or maybe not http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Had to include these three, there were eight plaques in all and is a solemn reminder of the cost to our American allies of the airwar.

May they rest in peace and never be forgotten.

This one gives you an idea of how many names were on each of the eight plaques:

Excellent pictures. What camera are you using?

Also can anybody tell me what this airplane is, it looks like a miniature Blenheim?!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif Or is it just simply a miniature Blenheim( I hope that you don't mind me cropping your picture Enk!)

Another question... does anyone know what those small depressions are for under the cockpit side-windows in the Beaufighter (see further above). You can see them clearly in the games virtual cockpit (the things that look like ashtrays). This question has been driving me crazy scince I first tried the Beau in PF.

Crop away http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I know they are on the large side, but more enjoyable hopefully.

I'm using a Canon Eos 300D (aka 'Rebel').

Yes that's a mini Blenheim, had to zoom in on the original and read the text to make sure http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

These little horrors were the reason for being there:

It's confusing you because it's the forgotten MkV which had a redesigned nose amongst other changes.

It's sometimes called the Bisley but that was actually the name for a solid nosed ground-attack version that was abandoned.

The glazed nose version was officially named the Blenheim V.

It saw most of it's action in North Africa.

On one raid in late 42' a whole formation of 9 was massacred by 25+ 109s and the Squadron Co was awarded a posthumous VC.

I was @ the airshow too, on saturday.

Made quite some pics too, I'll see if I can put them up somewhere as they're quite large as well.

Here are some samples, sorry for hijacking your thread B16ENK:

This is kind of symbolic, the dark warplane B-17 in contrast with the blue skies that are slowly clearing up. This is my best shot of the day I think.

English humour? Engine support on Gloster Gladiater rebuild.

This is me in front of the Bristol Britannia outside near the field. Impressive plane! I was looking against the sun, so don't look too happy http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Artistic mood http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Shackleton vertical stabilizer against a clearing sky.
http://mywebpage.netscape.com/kettenkrad00/cu2/dux/vulcan_groot.jpg
Avro Vulcan. It's an AVRO, allright! I love the shape of the leading edge of the wing going towards the fuselage.

I also have a frontal shot of a Victor bomber, that one wins the prize for wierdest shot ever! I'll see if I can put all of them up somewhere and do some batch-resizing.

HAHAHAHA and you like the English Humour about the sign...... I won't mention yours about squinting in the English Sunshine lol.... or the essex girl joke about dancing around your handbags http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif (see the brittania pic) nice pictures btw and i do love the brittanias http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

BTW the Vulcan leading edge design was calculated on slide rules, computers not being about then, work out all the angles they had to calcultae on it

Not a hijack in sight http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

After all they are Duxford pics, and nice ones at that! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Brittania:

Thanks to one of those I had an overnight stay in Turkey back in the '60s. Even though I was knee-high to a grass hopper I still remember it.
We managed to burst our tyres on landing for a re-fuel en-route to Singapore.
Funny thing is my clearest memory is the glass of water placed at my bedside the previous night was undrinkable in the morning....

Hehe, yeah, forgot to remove the camera bag before flight http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif As far as sunshine is concerned, we also met English hail, rain, wind and all those other things that continent people immediately think of when talking about the UK!

It was my first visit to UK in many years and I hopefully will be back with my camper instead of flying for a longer stay to meet some of the girls as well... What's with the handbag thing anyway? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Brittania: very cool plane, that's all I can say.
Vulcan: cool as well, when I look at the leading edge it somehow reminds me of a graph or something.

I also have a slight rear aspect shot of the Comet 4, the curve of the wing tank matches that of the cockpit almost as if they did that on purpose...
