A future idea:

I would highly support an idea if one found out a Japanese family predecessor of Ezio's in the medieval years.

A similarly detailed next AC game, where the medieval Japan is as detailed as Italy in the current games, and we would get to know samurais, hatamotos, daimyos, Shogun and Ezio being the most formidable stealth warrior of those ages - a shadow warrior. We could follow up with his growing up how he becomes a ninja.

Who else supports this idea?

Sounds really cool! But im more in favor of seeing a Spanish Assassin, but hey, as long AC3 is kick arse, idc what nation they make the next Assassin http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Ezio is pretty much close to a Spanish assassin, there should be a fresh new assassin in ac3, using the ninja concept is a favorable idea, moving to japan is also preferable.

To Rain: True, in a way I was kind of thinking like "El Zorro" concept but eh like I said as long AC3 is really good considering it will be the final I dont care what the new Assassin and era is or whether male or female http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

People have been wanting a Japanese Assasin story since AC1. But I doubt that's the direction they're going in. They've done the Crusades, and the Renaissance. Feudal Japan is a pretty hard jump to make from there.

But it would be cool, though...

Japan's possibly the worst direction a future AC game could take, for several reasons.

One, Japan was almost completely closed to outsiders until around the 1800s. Since Desmond looks exactly like his Syrian-Italian ancestors, where do you think his Japanese ancestry will fit in?

Two, ninjas are so damn overplayed. If you want to play as a ninja, go buy Ninja Gaiden or something. The Animus gives you the whole of human history to play around in, and you grab onto "ninjas"? Why not Victorian England? Colonial South America? The War of 1812? The Baroque period? Charlemagne? Hell, there are less games set in the North African Campaign than Japan.

I know that a WWII AC is the only thing less likely than Japan, but can you imagine Assassin's Creed: Casablanca?

Well put. I've never liked the whole AC japan idea and the ninja thing would be too cliche. Plus you make a good point; there's no way he'd fit in in Japan. I'm still hoping for a mix of modern day with Desmond (with locations all around the globe) or maybe a fifty fifty new ancestor past and present.

Aside from the American accent, Altair was definitely Arabic.

I love the idea of being a ninja, but as I thought about it, Assassin's Creed is almost a ninja game already. There's stealth, throwing knifes, hiding on rooftops... All he needs to be able to do are backflips and there are some coming in AC:Brotherhood. I'm sure whatever they decide to go with will be awesome and I'll still play it.

Backflips aren't a 'Ninja' thing, they're just general acrobatics.

my words! No no to feudal Japan or Japan at all.

Same here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Around the globe and in different times of world history http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Expect, Japan and WW2. For the storyline. I wouldnt mind again pics and things of ww2 and pre-ww2 who fit with the storyline of the piece of eden or with the glyphes.

Indeed i think WW2-Area is very good for the eden-thing or the glyphes, but NOT to play in the game.

I agree http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Something i posted long ago (and i mean long) was that the only way i see any ancestor appearing in Japan making sense is if he had to travel there to kill his enemies, much like Ezio has to in ACB, then return back to where he came from to have a baby who wouldn't have Japanese connections.
