At those prices, get them all and throw away the ones you don't like! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/crackwhip.gif

Maybe get one as a backup, but otherwise I wouldn't bother. The newer sticks (like the Saitek X-52 or 52 Pro) have so many more features, have smoother action, are built more solidly, etc. that I wouldn't worry about it.

And I've had 3 Saitek Cyborg 3D Golds (2 broke), one X-45 (a good stick), and 2 X-52s (had to RMA the first one).

Just my $0.02.

EDIT: In response to Thunderbolt, all sticks were covered under warranty. I was hamfisted with the first couple of Cyborg sticks and learned to be a bit gentler and the last one is still going strong (my 8 year old son uses it now). It's selling point was that it was the ONLY stick that could be configured for both left-handers and various size hands. The X-45 needed a trigger replacement once, but was otherwise bulletproof. The X-52 just had a bad board and they sent me a new one (which I really enjoy). Saitek for feature set, great programming, fantastic customer support, and reasonable price. But it's not built super tough (although the 52 seems better than my 45).
END EDIT

Precisely why I ALWAYS strongly recommend CH. I've had (and still have) an old original analog 2-button Flightstick that would just never die (I've had it over 15 years!). Also I still have a Flightstick Pro that I used hard for over 4 years and simply retired it as my backup stick in the event my custom Fighterstick ever has an issue (which I seriously doubt if history is any indication). Additionally, I have a set of Pro Pedals that I've had and used for over 6 years and they're still going strong.

Many of the people that have said that CH is just too expensive often do just as SithSpeeder has stated (not pointing fingers bud) and gone through 4+ lesser sticks and are still looking. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

I agree whole heartedly. Whether Cougar, CH, or whatever, buy QUALITY!! You'll save much money and aggravation over the long haul.

Well, about 22 years ago, in my case at least, in the times of Commodore 64, DIY was the only method of having a proper analog joystick.

Cute pic and stick, BTW. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
