Stencil buffer is the section of the graphics memory that stores the stencil data. Stencil data can be used to mask pixels for a variety of reasons, such as stippling patterns for lines, simple shadows and more. For a complete details on stencil buffer and its use look here (http://developer.nvidia.com/attach/6641)

Should also take note that if you wish to run perfect mode you will need stencil buffer enabled.

in short, enable it and game looks better.. for improved success online, i strontly recommend to disable it and fly with 16bit colors for improved dot visibility..

looks ugly ? Yes, but sometimes one needs to make sacrifises to see dots http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif

No thanks. If I were competing in a tournament for cash or something like that, maybe, but I don't have all that new high-tech hardware to turn all the visual goodies off.

"Attempt Stencil Buffer" stays on for me...along with higher res and "perfect" whenever possible.
