Whats your opinion? Firefox is more powerful, but, IMO, opera is better in so many ways. It is so much faster too.

I couldn't stand the white bars on the left and right in Opera and I've been using Firefox for 3 years now, which meant I couldn't adapt.

My vote goes to Firefox for it's shear beauty and awesome quickness.

Bars on left and right? There are no bars... My skin in opera acutally is WAY better than Firefox. I have only the essential stuff showing, so I have alot of viewing space. And some tests proved that Opera is faster than Firefox.

I like firefox because its simple and works great.

Opera is less used (sometimes like sites arent firefox friendly) Plus, its based off of Netscape (kinda not really). I tried it once, and like the multiwindow thing... but never really got past that.

Firefox

It had a white bar on the left and on the right and I wasn't willing enough to change browsers.

Hmm, IMO, opera is simpler than Firefox. Maybe not. Opera has widgets which are awesome!

Firefox, since I've been using it for years and wouldn't be able to change browsers easily.

firefox...it has some wicked extensions:

such as a

1.image browser
2. converts gmail account to an ftp account
3. can use as an ftp software for normal ftp servers
4. grease monkey for any custom scripts that can modified how u view webpages
5. adblock allows you to block anything on the web you want...ie: i turned off all the uneccessary images on the ubi forums...so its just the links and posted images
6. there are some scripts designed to speed up firefox

... what aboot IE7? I still use Firefox whenever I can, but it's a nice upgrade. I think it lacks Firefox's wide range of extensions though.

Never tried Opera. I hate ad bars and wasn't willing to pay for the no-ads version. I think it's completely free now, but I haven't tried it. I stick with FireFox.

For a while there, my computer was basically virus proof. I was running Windows 98SE with the Netscape browser while all the virus writers were targeting Windows XP and IE. That's not the case any more, but they still write more malware for IE than for FireFox.

Opera is the safest browser out, I don't remember the link, but if you google it I'm sure you'll find it. Kebab : You can go into an Ad Bar remover without extensions. I believe (user FF for 1 year, opera for 6 months) opera is over all faster, because you need no extensions to do the things you can do in firefox.

-its a feature thing that can slow fox down....i cant actively compare it to opera.

I use the adblock almost exclusively ...and its pretty awesome....blocking entire directories of images on websites.
