View Full Version : On US Shelves Today?

Anyone know if 1946 is in stores today? I'd love to stop by Circuit City, Comp USA, or Microcenter today and pick it up if it is.

If it is, it's very low- key... at least in my town. I checked EB Games yesterday and the guy said "maybe, maybe not" and seemed to think if they DID get it in stock, it would be a random shipment of a couple of units.

CompUsa's website lists an availability date of the 14th and states "this item is not carried in our stores." I don't know if that's a permanent thing or they're just saying that now because they don't have it yet.

Best thing you could do probably is just call and ask around; I've pretty well resigned myself to ordering it direct and waiting for Brown to drop it off, but then I'm not the biggest fan of shopping there ever was either. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I ordered mine through the UBI site. Fed Ex just dropped it off a few minutes ago.

Pick up the phone.
Call around.
See who has it in stock, and at what price.

Compusa's sight says the 14th.

I pre-ordered the download from UBI and it still isn't available. Makes a lot of sense for the DVD to be out before the download. UBI is hands down the suckiest game company to ever exist. I really hope they go under and Oleg finds a better distributor because I only give money to UBI because of Oleg's games.

I assume almost all fans who wanted 1946 have already bought a foreign edition. I certainly wasn't in the mood to wait all this time for a copy. But then there is the new player market. It would be interesting to see exactly how many U.S edition boxes sell.

Given the fact that I already bought all of FB+AEP+PF separately, I didn't want to spend $50 on the DVD. $30 is a fair price for the convenience of having everything together.

So is there gonna be any differences between the US edition and ones that are already released elsewhere?

Oh yeah and I don't know what this indicates but gamestop changed the ship date to the 16th of March now...it was at the 13th earlier today

The US edition includes a disclaimer which reads "No 3D people was harmed in the making of this game", "30+, Moderate Violence: Virtual Thingies Virtually Destroyed", and all the plane images blacked out to avoid copyright issues. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Come on, there's no such thing as a "US Edition". There's only an "English language Edition". That is, the same that was sold in the UK, only available to retailers there in the USA.

Maybe they'll change a bit the design of the cover, and that's all. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
