Nice... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif and BTW about your sig I think it's really funny, although I'm kinda inclined to believe that he will surely hit something eventually but that will probably be the nearest tree http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif .

If I recall correctly, there was once a monkey or chimp that was trained to fly IL-2. Gunnery wasn't exactly his forte, so he learned to get kills be ramming other planes, friendly or otherwise. His caretakers gave him the Hyperlobby name of "Rammer" and was greatly disliked by a lot of people who didn't know who he really was and just assumed him to be troll.

One of that Chimp's aliases was WhistlinggDeath.

Actually this was not added in 4.10 but was a feature added in the patch that added the D.XXI to begin with. It has something to do with skins that you select if I remember correctly. If you use certain skins, this will happen randomly. I have had several missions that flew with no pants or spats or whatever you want to call them. This was over a year ago! Maybe it was added in 4.09? When was the D.XXI added? But no, it's not new and not anything to do with 4.10. But glad you discovered it, better extremely late than never?

Perhaps I should've explained more than to say "it NOW works."

When 4.09 came out, i tried this feature & it didn't work. I posted here for help & got this reply:

Viikate_: "Thank you for pointing this out. It's actually a bug. It works only in winter map and not summer. It was supposed to be other way around."

I tried it with the code and all but no luck.

It's put under the tag like this to make it work?

I just garnered by the first post you wrote in this thread that you thought it was just added in 4.10, not that it works for the first time correctly in 4.10 patch. But I did fly a few missions with bare wheels a long time ago, that's all I know.

What you've done looks the same as what I've done. Does the reflector sight work?

Are you using a summer map?

Tried it on a winter map and summer map, just to be sure.
+ I get the "tube" sight all the time.

I"ll try it some more in the future.

I realize that these variations in the D XXI, and the wheel spats for the I-15 Bis are Easter Eggs for offline flyers, but I wish the dev team would make them as separate flyables so we could enjoy them all the time without the tomfoolery of making changes to the con.ini, or choosing obscure/unknown/random skins.

These are some very cool aircraft versions that almost no one knows of.

Seems a shame to waste all the work to model them.

I'm wondering if they could put the no wheel spats option as one of the loadouts?

One of the best things I've noticed about 4.10 is they've fixed the distance LODs for the Ju-87, Ju-88 and Bf-109, so they no longer suddenly become charicatures of themselves as you move away from them. Hope they fix the Il-2 LOD in the next patch, so that its cockpit no longer balloons in size.

Regarding spats/no spats - will people online also see whether or not your plane has spats?

ElAurens

No Romanator21, this only works offline, and I have only had it work in the QMB.

Like I said, it's a great pity that we just cannot select the spats no matter online or offline.

Yes, unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a customization.ini for the I-15 bis. Spats seem to be totally random http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I was fooling around, and the feature certainly works for planes that have more than one skin the their folder. For instance, the I-16 type 6 with skis has a second skin, and the Hs-129 Desert skin is different too.

I added a skin into the DXXI folder and managed to remove the spats.

However, "Default" skins don't have a checksum that you can put in to the Customization.ini

This is annoying for planes like the Fokkers and I-16 type 6 which don't have any other skins than the default.

I was wondering if anyone managed to copy the default skins and offer them for download? That way I could have Default2, Default3 in the skins list which each have the same color scheme, but their own checksum, and thus each have their own features, depending on what I feel like.
