This looks a wee bit like rennaisance Italy to me. Infact it looks like the same game environment, except oh look there's the Hagia Sophia in the background.....

Im sure it will be a good game, I just have never been feeling the settings for the games at all. Except AC1, the Holy Crusade was ok.

Apparently it's Constantinople.

Istanbul=Constantinople=Byzantium although at this point in time when Ezio goes there it is still called Constantinople.

so i prefer to call it in this case Constantinopel.

And yes, i think too the devs hadn't much work in desingnin the houses.

they had reneaissance italy and medieval damascas in AC1.

so i guess they hadn't to design a total new envrionment. maybe upgrade it.

Actually, it was renamed Istanbul in 1453, when the Ottoman Turks captured the city.

but i am sure, the marjority of the european population used to call it Constantinnople back then, because the turks conqured it in 1453. so it is half a century in 1503. And i still think most called it Constantinopel.

the turks would call it istanbul, but noone other than them really ever called it istanbul until right before the actual end of the ottoman empire.

also, biopulse, what the rest of europe calls the byzantine empire, is the eastern half the roman empire, but they all spoke greek.

Who is going to be the main character?I heard it's going to be Ezio and Altair. And it's Istanbul and not Constantinople, because after the fall of Constantinople(1453) Turks renamed.

Correct,it was built on an existing site by the Emperor Constantine(Flavius Valerius Aurelius Constantinus Augustus),previously it was known as Byzantium.Constatinople took 6 years to build.
Constantine was the first Roman Emperor to convert to Christianity.
