You've done well. Good for you, you can experience AC Brotherhood before the PC. Buon per te

I can't help but feel like this is exactly what Ubisoft really wants. I'm not a PC person or anything but that's what it looks like to me.

Well done, you just spent lots of money to play an amazing game, on an inferior platform.

All because you couldn't wait a few more weeks.

I think you'll live to regret this, but I could be wrong.

No, I'm not a Fanboy, thats just my opinion... All the upgrading of a PC, more hackers on online games... Just, not worth the hassle.

I've said this many times, if you're a low maintenance gamer and have no patience for running a PC then yes, consoles are a 'superior' platform. Also, with the online games I play and the servers I play on, I don't have any trouble whatsoever with hackers.

But, consoles also have their downsides. I can understand the benefits of both PC and console, depending on your circumstances.

My point was, that he spent money on a console purely because he was impatient. All that money, just for one game... he even said it himself.

He was stimulated to spend all that money because of this one awesome game but he will soon find out about all the other awesome game and online experiences through the box.
I'm not anti PC or Pro any console, in fact I think any kind of loyalty of that nature is illogical, it's the experience that is of value, not whether or not the hardware was made by Sony, Dell or Microsoft.
Saying that, I own all three and quite a few more besides and the most rewarding experience, for my own tastes, is Xlive.
I've been running PC, PS3 and original Xbox online for a long time concurrently and that's the opinion my playtime has resulted in.

Have fun OP, I know you will.

"All the upgrading of a PC" I dunno about you, but I myself love doing an upgrade. If you know what you're doing, you can easily build a budget PC that'll last for sometime without upgrades.

"More hackers on online games" True, but only for certain games, and that is also not happening on X360 only because MS blocks the freedom of the console owner. Even if someone doesn't cheat on online games, they're still banned from XLive if their console is modded.
And bear in mind, the best MMOs are still on PC, if you really want online.

All in all, it's upto personal preference. For some, PC might be inferior, but to some, it might be superior. There are good points to both sides. Just too lazy to list. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

To OP: It's possible you might regret it, if you've been a PC gamer for long. But if you're more "adaptable", you'll now have best of both worlds. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

EDIT: I do have one question, though. Why didn't you get this earlier when you knew ACB was delayed? You could have prevented some angry rants, spoilers and stuff, I guess.

If you want to play games sooner, purchasing console is a good choice.

If I was a PC gamer, I would have waited.. However its your choice.

However I wouldn't play all upcoming games on a console.

Some Games, Run far Better on a console than a PC and some run far better on a PC than a console. Do some research, before you decide, which platform to use http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

To OP:
I can perfectly understand you, as I did somewhat same when the first AC game was released. One evening I just decided I cannot live without a console any longer and bought one the next day on my way from work. There were some other reasons as well, like that the PS3 was the cheapest Blu-ray player in those days. But it was the AC that did the final push for me.

I never regret that choice and since then, I play all the games on my PS3 connected to a big screen and sound system, and I use the console for all other media as well.

So enjoy your new console. New electronic toys are always fun http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Robson is right in that the XBOX and PS3 are both indeed inferior with regard to image quality, and power. Are they easier to setup? Definitely. But you get what you pay for. I've played ACB on the XBOX 360. It looks like garbage, even in 1080P. But I'm used to playing AC1 & AC2 (amongst many other titles) on the PC with everything cranked, resolution maxed, IQ settings maxed.

The bottom line is that consoles are boxed in. You're stuck with the hardware that you started with permanently until the next console. Don't like the performance or the grainy/bad image quality? Too bad, along with your boxed in hardware, comes your boxed in performance/quality settings. They're predetermined for you. No tweaking. Have fun. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

To be fair, Solidsage is right. I just ranted because it seems mad to me to wait this long for the PC version, then at basically the last minute, buy a 360 just for AC:B. But, he'll no doubt enjoy playing the game regardless of graphics and performance.

I personally would never buy a console just for one title.

Enjoy, I know I'll be ecstatic when I get to play the PC version. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

For some it is.

I care 0% for graphics. I even play PS3 on a regular normal TV if I want to.

How about smoothness of framerates? Do you care 0% about that as well?

You and me both. It will put the XBOX 360 version I've played to absolute shame. When I have played it on the 360, I've had to try to adjust to the low framerates, choppy/grainy image quality, and delayed controller response. It's quite different. That's not to say the game wasn't still fun to play, but it's definitely a significant step down from playing it on a proper gaming PC.

It always ran smooth to me, even on a normal TV.

And don't double post, it's against the forum rules.

lol if you say so. Have you played both on a PC & a console for direct comparison? If so, I would imagine you and I have different definitions of smooth.

I dunno about the console version, but the framerate on the PC version of ACII really sucked at times.

Apparently AC:B will have a much more stable framerate on the PC. Or so I read... somewhere.

With the PC it'll be dependent on what settings you're running, and the hardware you're running it on. I realize I probably have a much more powerful gaming rig than most people and I run AC1 & AC2 @ 1920x1200 with 8x Antialiasing, 16x Anisotropic filtering, and all other in-game settings at their maximum and everything is smooth as silk. And the neat thing with the PC is if you are running into any performance problems, you can simply upgrade your hardware to make things run better or if you don't want to spend $$, tweak the IQ settings in-game down until the game runs the way you want (drop resolution, AA/AF settings, or in-game options).

On a console, you don't have that option. The thing with most console users though is that if that's all they play games on, they don't know the difference anyway, so they think what looks grainy/crappy with jagged edges on textures and choppy framerates is the norm and is actually "good", when it really isn't. They just don't have anything to compare it to to know the difference.
