WinXP Pro
Nvidia 6600 256MB video
2.8mHz
1024MB RAM
ForceFeedback stick

When I get the game running and there are a large number of other planes flying around at the same time, my screen gets a little jerky, so I'm thinking I don't have quite enough computer.

Unless you want to put 3k on a supercomputer, that's perfectly normal for any game.

Which is why Raven created graphic options.

I run an extremely similar machine and have had no problems with 15-20 planes flying (haven't tried more). What do you mean by "large number of planes"? If you minimize background programs and tweak Windows' services, you will benefit greatly. Study these options: http://www.overclockersclub.com/guides/windows_xp_services.php<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I'd say those specs are closer to what the majority of users here have.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Time to get tweaking Cesare!Try 1024x768 resolution with 2xAnti Aliasing and 2 X Anisotropic Filtering.Do NOT use PERFECT setting but EXCELLENT is ok.If you do not mind doing without hearing other pilots speaking and seeing what they say on the screen in words then you can edit these sort of things out in the conf.ini folder (do a Windows XP search for it or look in the Program Files)You just change 1s to 0s etc .Its easy. But be careful you dont mistype!
Select the option in the setup folder for the 6600.I dont think this is nearly as good a graphics card as the 6600gt Im using at the moment but this game can be enjoyed on very basic hardware if you set the options suitably. Is the 2.8cpu Intel or AMD?
If you really streamline your setup you should manage 1280x1024 resolution which is nice.Try it without the AA/AF and compare with 1024x768 with the enhancements (AA/AF)
Make sure you have latest driver and turn off any antivirus etc when playing.
Get researching!!!

Same as Aceman and I've never had any problems. But I fly with 1024x768 and medium settings... except I think my visibility is set to high<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Go here (http://airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/il2_fb.htm) and start working down the left-hand column for instructions on how to tweak your rig for FB. It's a bit unnerving at first...but it's the collected findings of over five years of this sim, and is really helpful.

I suggest that you post over in the Community Help forum. (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/49310655) This is the best place to open detailed hardware & software threads. Not that people don't respond here, as you can see, but you will get a wider audience in the CHF.

Oh well http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I don't understand the new ethos - I guess it must be my advancing years - but it seems like any game must involve preparation and practice. Like the first time you step to the wicket or the plate to cop a ball straight between the eyes http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif Either you say "I am going to master this game" or you just run away - blaming the bat or the ball or your boots even. But that little line - "no pain, no gain" - is the bottom line to life, virtual or otherwise.

Oh well.
