Installed 1946 and have been enjoying the PE2 campaign. I chose the red navy. A few of my thoughts, and a couple questions for those in the know:

The Pe2 is fun! I never thought id enjoy flying a big ol brick: I read it was fast in 1941, but this campaign is in '44, but I really do like her. Typically I cruise at 3100-3300 meters, Supercharger in stage two and mixture at 80, and she does 380 km/h at 100% throttle. Not too shabby carrying 2x250AB and 2x500ABs.

I roll into the target area, stay at altitude, and pick out my target ship, dive to the deck about 500m out, and skip my bombs into the side of the ship with a 6 second timer. Works great, and its so much fun!

Now the questions/concerns:

What the deal with the mission where y

A lot of the planes you see shot down are 1/2 size models, but most of it was done with real airplanes (Spanish built Bucherons and Heinkils).

In most versions there's a "Making of" at the end, explainging how they did it. It appears to have involved a lot of flying around in formation, waiting for all planes to get into position. Adolf Galland was involved in setting up the flight scenes as far as I remember.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Have a look at these links ,they are very good.
If you get a chance see if you can find the books written by the late Robert Rudhall about the film or Leonard Moseley [not the black shirted L Moseley LOL].

I'm playing the Red Navy campaign, and just recently played that mission. In fact the cruiser you sunk was supposed to be a Finnish coast defence ship (rather heavily armed) but in fact was a German AA cruiser "Niobe" which was "misidentified" apparently in reality as well as the campaign. The Finnish ship survived the war and the Niobe was in fact sunk during an air raid.

Now in the game there were 2 attacks and I noticed the first attack the other planes were scripted to attack other ships since they thought not likely one player could sink the ship...but you proved them wrong. Well the pitfall of scripted campaigns I guess.

About takeoff, I also go 120% but switch to 100% 500M or so, plus 80% at 2000M. You can change bobms but need to choose the highest rank, it's like that in every campaign. Merry Xmas. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
