Did anyone else ever play this? It was such a fun a game, and also the first sim with real-time shading I ever played. I was about 5 years old when I first played it and until I had only played MSFS (version 3 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif!) and I remember my first air to air kill when pulled off a quick deflection shot on a zero. I'm really excited for PF and hope this recaptures some of my favorite memories, thanks for making this guys.

I remember this game. I played it fanatically and then the Leyte Gulf addon as well. Firstly on my Classic II with the 9' monochrome monitor and 4mb of memory and then on my Power Mac 6100. I played it more than any other game on my macs, only civilisation II and Marathon II coming close.

I tried F/A 18 Hornet and A10 attack which were developed by the same guy, but never got as hooked by them as Hellcats.

Hornet had a cool coms system where the LSO would talk to you once you "called the ball".
