Cant stop playing the joint operations demo. Its full of meatheads, but at least 20-30 people on each team play it seriously.

100 player servers. Thats good stuff.

There has been few occasions when a killer bug has made me stop playing.. In FB I putted the game on hold for couple months at one time.

Been playing little Ground Control 2 while waiting for the il2 killer Silent Hunter 3. Have you guys checked this out, the game developpers actually shifted the game date for 6 months just to add in dynamic campaing. I've actually been playing ww2online, for what it lacks from IL2, it also manages to outdo IL2 is many regards - mostly in immersion.

Great graphics, great flight model... but the DF servers are rather old, and waiting all the time for coops that have no significance isn't so great either http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Just hope BoB can provide some more gameplay items rather than just graphics and flight models.

Hi,

This thread is quite surprising....people haven't been playing v2.01?

I could understand not playing v2.00 because it was laughable but...

As to cheating, I've not seen anyone up to it as yet.

IMO, the heart of this game are the graphics and flight model, but it really depends on the quality of maps that each server runs to complete the package.

A good set of maps in the rotation and FBD running in the background can add so much immersion. Ground targets, balanced planesets (although some historically accurate planesets were unbalanced) brings this game right to the front.

I'm sure the "leaked" patch has caused some division in the online community and v2.04 will bring it right back...at least until PF in a couple more months.

As a dial up user i'm still stuck on 2.0 (grrrr http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif).

Patches, smatches. As long as the patch whining hilarity still continues you'll find me front row center for all the comic relief that the site brings as a salve to my useless flying skills.

Who needs 2.3 or 2.4, still having fun on 2.0 and even the original il2.

The ai in 2.01 are still kill thieves . . . I'd like to see that fixed, but overall, this is the best version of IL2 FB so far, imho.

The .50's? I'm sick of hearing about this issue. I sprayed the hell out of a Zeke's engine last night, and he took it as well as a P-47 should. He managed to shoot me down with his cowling full of holes. I had used all my cannon rounds on his buddies, who I busted into tiny pieces with short bursts. All I had left was the 50's.

Know why? I needed to get closer, plain and simple. If the 50's are undermodelled, that means I simply have to be a better pilot to use them. Do I want them more deadly? Maybe. Do I stop playing? Never. I'm still enjoying this game in a way that I simply cannot enjoy any other.

I'll have to post some shots of a demo that I played last night. OMG, if you want "bugs" . . . well, this community would have to shoot the developer, I am sure.

I still play FB-AEP, but not at the 24/7 pace as when 2.01 came out. Plus that "leaked 2.02" situation left a sour taste in my mouth. I've been scrounging the bargain bins and found Deus Ex 2, and I've been playing that recently whenever I want to get as far away from anything WW II for awhile.

Since I plan on doing a complete uninstall & clean reinstall once patch 2.04 comes out, I'm thinking of uninstalling FB now and try out some other games I've missed since I took up FB, and just reinstalling when 2.04 arrives.

The other night I was quite happy with 2.01 to the point when I flew a coop in a spit against Me110.Twice.The first time I got hit with 5 MG151 shells in the wing plus one MK108 shell in the engine which caused oil splat and I really could fight on - visibility ddidn`t really change at all.Second time I received 7 MG151/20 type shells right in the engine without effect.

In both missions I shot down two human Me110.I wasn`t happy though, cuz I should have been a fireball before I downed any of them.

Hey, I was under the impression of late September, early October. I think after the leak of 2.03, they've changed the name to 2.04 and there just gonna give us a big one with all the DM and model fixes for the Spit overheat and stuff with the Tempest, dozen Ju 88 variants, and the new F/A-18D Super Hornet. Just kidding. But minus the F18 I'm wouldn't be surprised.

Theres only five planes left that I need. Lancaster bomber, Do335, Tempest, Mosquito, and Do17. Then I die a happy man. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Well, we can always hope but to be honest I have no expectations. The last patch was over-due and I thought it might be that Oleg was throwing in a flyable B-25 just as a little surprise. It would have been a very nice political move but, he's not a politician.

Losing the GD forum was a dangerous thing when thinking of the "patch waiting situation".

So, who needs a patch when you have GD? As long as we have a place to talk about it we'll be ok. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

same stuff here BOA beta, its good better then cod for sure but the same player movement basically is the same, it seems very short like COD too, it has slightly better team control play and maps are alot bigger then cod but they are still half the size of bf1942 maps.

Last three days I been mountain biking with my cousin, we had to cover 60 miles, hitting all the trails, way to many huge hills going 45+mph then having to go back up on the way back.

Almost went flying over the stem going down a 25 foot drop crossing a stream which had thicker mud on the other side. Great stuff and so fun

Sorry I been out trying to keep my a$$ from being the shape of my computer chair. Dude you are waaaay ahead of me on the bike thing. The only dirt bike I ever had was a Suzuki 250cc 4 stroke (sled) many years ago which I rode in Gorman and off of Interstate 15. Right now I am trying to get back in shape with my old Road Bike - a Peugeot (I also have an old Schwinn World Sport which is a joke but good for increasing fitness). When I feel I deserve it I will spring for a Trek 1200 Roadie or equivalent. I live by Pomona but I like biking in and around Newport Beach and Irvine and Beach areas. I got a long way to go though.

Although I never really rode Mountain Bikes seriously, it sounds like it would be fun (after I get the Trek). Motorcycles (Dirt Bikes) were kinda fun but I figured I might as well quit while I was ahead since I kept dinging myself (and the bike) with nearly every trip.

FWIW I did some sailing (rentals off of Dana Point) and am trying to get back into it, now that someone I know owns a nice boat (renting is Ok , but kinda sucks at times) and few trips to Catalina are planned (tentatively) in the summer.

Those MTB look very fancy indeed Lead. Impressive.

P.S. sorry for off topic too.

I play a few hours of Il2 in the evening with my squadron, usually in the weekends. I also play a fair bit of lomac or Ghost Recon. When I'm not playing a game, i'm doing family runs or try and put lil airplanes together.

I also have a few other games I need to finish, so all in all quite busy with doing absolutely nothing.

As for the patches, unless the game is really crippled its not holding me back from playing. One exclusion may be the raven shield issue, but nothing IL2 related.
