the A6M2 is the Model 11, 64 build, used lanbased over China.
it has no hook and no folding wingtips.
propably is has a VERRY litte beter performance to the Model 21.

difference Model 52 and 52a is the 20mm canon , actually its ammo.
52 has 100 rounds
52a has 125 rounds

There is double system of planes designations in IJN:
in first Zero name is: "A6M2":
A-carrier fighter,
6-sixth project of Japanese carrier fighters,
M-Mitsubishi
2-second modification of the sixth project.

In second, more detailed its:
"Carrier fighter Type 0 Variant 11", in Japanese short:

"Reisen 11"

0 (zero) is for date of standarizing, here 2600 in Japanese calendar, i.e. 1940.
"Variant 11" says:
first "1" for variant of airframe
second "1" for variant of engine.

"A6M" is far not enough detailed for there was A6M3 Reisen 32 and A6M3 Reisen 22.

Sorry if I post what everybody knows already

JG53Frankyboy is right,
as for Reisen 52 and 52a let me add that 52a had even thicker skin on wings to improve diving speed.
Max diving speed of Reisen 52 = 660kmh, Reisen 52a=740kmh. Of course 52a was somewhat heavier.

in game Model 52 and 52a have the same divelimit , around 750km/h IAS.

Ty guys for educating me.

BTW, it seems zeros are better divers in this sim than IRL, hard to get away from them if u don't have sufficient alt.

i think a lot of ppl are astonded by zero perf in FB, but IMO, many see things they perhaps dont understand, or take into account, primarily E states and climb

when the smart zero driver lets one dive away, and fllows loosely, but keeps a mind to his alt, and then the (for example) USA plane zooms, the zero already has a bit of alt...plus even tho slower, the zero has GREAT climb, and freaks the usa guy out by climbing up to the top of his zoom and blasting him

i have never flown a zero and caught up to, or stayed with, any other fighter in a dive, when i have NOT had any kind of E or alt advantage

The 5b would probably be the pick of the bunch though. Better protection, fire extinguisher, slightly better armament and the wing skin was increased again for better diving performance. After this, they were starting to get too heavy for the powerplant used. Unfortunately for the Zero, its opposition usually had much more power and was improving all the time.
