I just wanted to experiment with the FMB to set up some D-Day-like mission primarily using ground objects like ships and artillery.

First of all I noticed the lack of MG42s http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I set up a test map using 4 russian torpedo boats and three freighters closing in on the normandie beach which was protected by four 50mm PAKs, two howitzers four 20mm FLA MGs and three 88er FLAKs.

The nine heavy guns should have no trouble with sinking the small and low armoured ships but insted their big shells spread out all around the ships not hitting anything but water!
And finally ALL land artillery was murdered by the torpedo boats 12.7mm guns http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Seems like our artillery is too inaccurate for hitting ground objects. I'll try it out against tanks and other land objects later but i have the feeling it won't be any different. *sigh*

Hope artillery will perform better in BOB so the germans will at least be able to do SOME harm to the invasion forces ...

I hope there will be a dynamic campaign mode that will allow the Germans to be the ones doing the invading... ;-)

From what I've heard (don't remember where exactly, but I'm fairly sure), Oleg said that BOB will have two dynamic campaign styles.

One, realistic like in FB where one pilot can make a small impact but the battles still go the same way.
Second, a more player-centered dynamic campaign where you will be able to influence the course of events. (Britain invaded etc)

Oh, and I do agree with the accuracy issue, but I think it roughly balances out with land-based targets, as in real life they would have been able to 'dig in' or take other forms of cover that they are not able to do in FB.
