Hi,

Just managed to land this Hurricane. I didnt realise the extent of the damage until I played the track. I had to fly alone for 40minutes to RTB (offline) :

The low speed characteristics were a tad tricky thanks to that Ki-?? attack.

A very satisfing mission. Even though we missed the objective.

As a dedicated hurricane enthusiast, P51 won teh war but the hurri meant there was still a war to win etc, I've seen this a few times. For extra weirdness next time it happens to you turn on your nav lights.

Couldn't believe I was still flying in this rata, but I did and I managed to land safely http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif . I tried to record it on a track but on the track the damage was gone.

It's kryptonite... to keep Superman from stealing the plane.

The P-38HJS was the first nucular powered plane in teh world.

Gibbage and Max Power will approve.

Proof of the Hurricanes greatness: It has additional wing it doesn't need.

Hanglands, when will you post your roll rate charts for Hurricane Mk IIb and Mk IIb (CW)?

I think the roll is overmodelled.

Some of the damage modeling is spot on. I remember watching the CO of my old squadron land his Corsair, minus the rudder and vertical stabilizer. None of us said anything on the way back to the strip and we just entered the pattern and landing like nothing had happened. After he landed he went to the external view and couldn't believe what he saw. He said he knew something was amiss as he found it very hard to get his crate to turn, but he had no idea of the extent of the damage. I later found a picture of a real F4U that landed safely and it had the exact same damage. The moral of that story is that ignorance is bliss and what you don't know won't hurt you.

But not all damage modeling is correct, planes flying about like some of these pictured or trailing smoke and flame, yet still fight like nothing is wrong and heaven help you if you take a hit in the Corsair's self-sealing fuel tank. It doesn't seal and all the fuel will be gone in just a few minutes.

Two great images that bought a smile to my face.

I may have posted this once before, I forget, but anyway its an offline flight in which my flight is wiped out (except for me) by a flight of 109s. I manage the 20minutes flight home and a (sort of) successful landing with just one aileron and the throttle. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nSly16-WhgM I get a real buzz when I finish a mission despite the odds being stacked against it.

Regards.
