The long-awaited autobiography of Günther Rall is finally out. I know, because I just got it! (for my birthday...). Rall is the greatest living ace, and no. 3 in the greatest-ever list, with 275 air kills.

My family was even nice enough to get me the Handsignierte Spezialaufgabe at 50 euros. Otherwise it is 35.50.

Lots of b/w photos, 375 pages and a really good read (in German of course) judging from the first 35 pages. Perceptive analysis interspersed with lots of flavour.

Page 1-218: 1930's and WWII. Pages 222-334: Post-war in the Bundesluftwaffe (flying the Starfighter). Appendices of military career, planes shot down and planes flown.

Strongly recommended!

I was wondering is there a version translated in english. I have seen many interviews of him and chuck yeager and rall seems like a really great guy, its amazing all that hes been thru he remains such a great guy.

Well anyways I would love to get this book but dont read german. Hopefully the company will be able to have a traslated version.
