Ooohh, what I'd give for a flyable B-36 in the VVS '46 add-on!

Do you think the aircraft designers at Consolidated had taken a peek at the Boeing B-29 Superfortress when they designed the B-36 Peacemaker? They sort of carry a resemblance...

My Dad saw a B-36 over here in Blighty... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif Must have been around the late 40's early 50's

I think it was over here to show the 'Big Stick' to the rest of the world on some sort of promotional tour... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

I seem to remember it was the only one that got away from American air space of any note... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Does anyone still have that mission or screenshot that someone posted a looooong time ago, showing all (or most) of the planes in this game lined up at an airfield?

I'd love to see that image/open that mission again and add the newer planes since that version.

Wow, that monstrosity is of colossal proportions!! I'd hate to have to polish that thing, too. I'm good at polishing a rocket though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

First, to avoid leeching bandwidth by direct linking, one would post the pictures on their OWN website or a free one like ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us).

Then, to show them here:

Either, click the "Display Image" icon on the top of a reply window and cut and paste the web address in the window and click OK. It will put the web address in-between the UBB code for displaying images: [ IMG ]Your Picture Here[ /IMG ].

I had to add spaces in the tags, before and after each bracket, to show you an example. Using the image inserter, there will be no spaces there.

OR use the IMG tags manually OR just hit "Reply with Quote" to any post that has a posted image in it and you'll see an example of how they used the IMG tags. ;^)

Wow, that B-58 Hustler brings back memories. It was my favorite jet when I was a kid. My dad built a few plastic models of it for me. I always thought it looked cool as hell!!! Thanks for reminding me, Berg!! :^D

Nowadays, even more so. They didn't have as sophisticated of an Early Warning system as they do now.

The nuke threat that scares me most nowadays is the "Dirty Bomb" threat associated with terrorism. At least, ICBMs can be intercepted and shot down before they reach the USA.

BRASSTURTLE, http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gifyes that was from Boondock Saints. I agree that it's not as good as Lock Stock or Snatch but it is still funny and has some good moments.

They actually flew these bad boys (well ok the RB36 recon version) over Chinese and Russian airspace during the early cold war period.

Sounds like a maintainence nightmare though

Fortunalety there's only four of them (engines), so it's relatively short time for ground crew to put them pointing in correct direction http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

the dirty bomb threat is greatly exagerated. thats why theres none in the military.

with some mild research u can find radioactive material easily http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Dumb Arse? You're calling ground crew dumb, when it's the pilots that are ignorant idiots... I should know, I'm one of the "dumb arse" ground crews. Believe me, maintainers are the most dedicated group you'll ever meet on an airfield/flightline.
