Had U-49 (VIIB) from Sept of 39 until Dec of 42. Got U-201 (VIIC, Adalbert Schnee's boat) then. It's Dec 29, 1943 now, and still have it.

U-52 VIIB, 1 SEP 39 to 24 JUL 1943 (so far)

Shes got the two Dual c/38s so has excellent AA power and I only carry T I and T IIs on patrol now, maybe a T IV or two if I'm ordered near a coast. Going to be upgrading to my XXI boat in April 44, I already have 45K renown since I haven't swapped boats. Also I have just the basic batteries, engine, sonar radar, decoys and radar detector.

My current boat is U-105, a IXB as in real life (WWII). Thus far I have completed a single patrol with her.

For those interested: the real U-105 was commissioned 10 Sep, 1940. During her career she had four different commanders and completed 9 patrols. She sunk 22 ships (123.924 GRT) and a single warship (1.546 tons). On 2 June, 1943 near Dakar, after a stressful two hour chase, she was depth charged and sunk by a French 4-engine flying boat named Antarés, (the only one of that design ever built - Potez-CAMS 141). Sadly, all 53 crew aboard U-105 that fateful day were lost.

The facts on the real U-105 were obtained from uboat.net (http://www.uboat.net/).

IXB U-110. Captain Fritz Julius Lemp.

Captured on 9 May, 1941 in the North Atlantic south of Iceland by the destroyers HMS Bulldog, HMS Broadway and the British corvette HMS Aubretia. The boat was allowed to sink the day after to preserve the secret capture. 15 dead and 32 survivors.

Sorry to disappoint you, but as the game is now, it can't be done in game. I worked up the sig using corel photopaint 12. If you thought it was an ingame shot, thanks for the complement. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Jeez, am I the only guy in a IID?

U-5 here, a IID sub operating in English waters, mid Jan 1940, on her sixth patrol.

Man, I love this little "einbaum". Fast dive, good cruising range compared to the IIA, and with only 5 torps you have to make every one of 'em count, especially when you're using more realism and get a percentage of duds. But I stay with the T-1 steam-driven torps and so far have had only a few duds.

I expect I'll have enough renown to bump up to a VIIB after this patrol, assuming I survive. That nut Donitz has sent me awfully close to Scapa Flow this time!

U 48, a V11B, got it early 1940, saw the war out in it but heavily modded along the way, 35 patrols, 116 ships for 786,000 tonnes, no deaths but **** loads of depth charges... go the bold decoys! The transfer from 1st to 7th Flotilla was the best move.

Ps, go to www.uboat.net (http://www.uboat.net) & look up your real life conterpart from WW2 & see how it went for real.

I used to have U96- a nice boat, and an important real-life career. But i started a new career, in U231. In real-life it didnt have any successes, apart from a wellington bomber it shot down. But in the game, its a beast. Its got lots of upgrades (U-flack, radar, top of the range sonar) and ive sunk a good tonnage so far in it.

1st boat-VIIB U-46, it was pretty succesful 21 ships sunk for 90,000tons, 2 Auxiliary Warships sunk, it was stricken at Neustadt in October 1943. Scuttled on 4 May 1945 in Kupfermühlen Bay, in position 54.50N, 09.29E.

Some history about U-46, On 3 August 1940 the British submarine HMS Triad (Lt. Cm George Salt) was returning from patrol off Fedjeosen, to the north of Bergen, she spotted U-46 (Endrass) as she was sailing for patrol. Not being able to find a firing position, Triad surfaced and attacked U-46 with her 102mm gun at 2230 hours. Endrass decided not to engage and dived. Triad also dived and tried to hunt the U-boat, but both boats lost contact. HMS Triad was lost in action only 6 weeks later.

2nd boat-IXB U-108-enven more successful, 25 ships for 110,000 tons, and 1 Auxiliary Warship, it was sunk 11 Apr 1944 at Stettin, by bombs; raised; taken out of service at Stettin 17 Jul, 1944; scuttled there 24 Apr 1945.

Some more history about U-108-On 10 Feb, 1943, while on the outward journey to the Caribbean, U-108 was damaged by a British Catalina aircraft (Sqdn 202/N) and was forced to return, reaching Lorient on 24 Feb. She only managed to set out again on 1 April.

Currently in command of the U-47, a type VII-B U-Boat, originally stationed at Wilhelmshaven. I'm on my first patrol and am currently NW of Ireland, heading SW, en route to Brest, the new home of the 1st Flotilla.

Just so happens I took a screen shot of my boat very near my most current location.

U-52 Type VII/B, 1st Flotilla, Brest, November 27 1940. Last 3 patrols I've averaged something like 45000 GRT. Love my boat but I wanna try a Type IX.

Question. If I want to upgrade to a VII/C do I have to pay the whole 3000 or just the extra 500 on top of the 2500 a VII/B costs?

U-47 was a Type VII boat, ...I dont like how the game generates numbers randomly and assigns them to U-Boat types that were not historically correct.

I believe there is a way to change this using the game Configuration files.
The result will be Number (U-***) that correspond to the exact TYPE of U-Boat, and so for example U-47 will be a Type VIIB not a Type IXC.

Using the information on U-Boat.net, you can add your own Historically Correct U-Boat numbers.
I want to feel like im actually replaying history, and every bit of realism helps.

I had to start a new campaign due to a depth charge problem, but they gave me Type VIIB which is U-99.7th Flottille , And if im correct Kptlt Otto Kretschmer commanded that one for just over a year before it was scuttled, which will have to be done again if i dont stop driving like a ******.
