Ubisoft mentioned the fact that they wanted to make AC2 more Hollywood like, improve the cinematics and such.

How do you think they're going to handle this?

It's gonna be pretty hard to beat Uncharted in that area, if not learn from Naughty Dog.

This is what I missed from AC1. You didn't become involved because there were no real cut-scenes.

I find FMV's a pain, if I wanted to watch a movie I would go buy a DVD. I would prefer if a game could get a story across and totaly kill the need for FMV or long scripted events (like AC1)

In AC1 you had cutscenes you could only walk in them, is that so bad? I like cinematics and Uncharted 2 is sure on my list but I hope they won't make it as long as in MGS4 (great game though) cos that would take away the experience. Good cutscenes are the key to a good story and experience.

MGS is a bit extreme, and I think that you only need a few, maybe even in-game, cut-scenes to add to the feeling of the game.

When a game has too many cutscenes, it gets really annoying, or if they're extremely long.
But sometimes cutscenes are good when you need a breather and just want to sit back for a while.
I agree with Shark in the aspect that they are pretty key to a good story and such.
Besides, cutscenes are nice for us movie makers/editors, lol http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

What makes Uncharted's cutscenes so special?

(I haven't played it http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif)

They are very stunning and run just like you would see in a movie. Even the game trailers are movie quality.
I prefer AC over Uncharted but Ubi can learn a thing or two from Naughty Dog

Oh, thank youhttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
I guess I'd have to play it to fully understand, problem is I don't have a PS3 :/

You should just watch this and you understand how good the cutscenes are. Its just like a movie, voice acting is great. http://www.gametrailers.com/vi...nt-uncharted-2/52546 (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/exclusive-dont-uncharted-2/52546)

Reminds me of GTA IV cutscenes xD

but yeah, AC2 could really benefit from those... alot better than the interactive ones.
