Maybe it's the rising moon.

'Never gets black in the middle the night in the summer, least not where I live in Northern Europe (I live in Sweden but I'm not further North than Carlisle in the UK).

Stay up late one night. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

...Anyway, the darkest part of the night is probably a bit later than 24.00. Here it's light until about 22.00 (sunset around 21.30 I think).

yup local time for sunset is pretty late up here in sweden during summer time... And between sunset and sunrise there is only twilight... Never really gets pitch black.. God I love that time of the year...
Remeber a few summer ago, a friend of mine and me played badminton till it got too dark at around 23:00 to see the ball, we stoped playing for 2 1\2 hours and by 01:30, the sun started o come up again and we we could continue playing...

its not the moon that makes a blue glow and i usually put to 1oo or 200 hours to get it reletively dark moreso than 2400
