WHOHOO http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

ive found out that when building single player missions(which i do to myself) i no longer needs to set the ai level to avrage...nope http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

now i can beat the Veteren. Althogh they kill me sometimes i get em most of he time. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif
it makes the fights a bit more fun when ur teamates and the enemy ai fights with greater skill level.
it just shows how good they are programmed(thanks Oleg http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

i know many off u thinks the Ace ai is piece of cake. but there should be roome for different skill levels.

anyone else who does not beat the ace ai evrytime

I have found that the best way is to mix it up... make all flight leaders Ace or Vet.... with the rest average and the one or two rookies depending on your flight.. do the same for the friendlies... although less so since the AI cheat.

Actually, I'd just set the highest to Veteran. That seems to be the last level where they don't suddenly acquire super-streamlined and performance-tweaked aircraft.

The biggest mistake ppl make while creating missions is setting AI on Veteran/Ace.

To make things realistic, about 70% planes in the air should be a mix of Rookie/Average,another 26% on Veteran and 4% on Ace level.I haven`t been flying offline since 2004 but I do think that if you get a Kapitaen rank, all AI automatically go up to some level.Eventually I ended up with all AI on Ace which made sorties an unplayable joke.

The proportions I`ve listed are reversed in online wars.Admins just don`t want to change that.

PS.If you fly online, you should start competing when you think Veteran AI are easy for you.Ace is unrealistic sniper UFO dudes with cameleon eyes that define psysics. Moreover, flying against Ace gives you bad habits.Don`t bother with Ace AI.

Though if you've any inclination at all to fly against real people there's no real need to wait until you can kick veteran AI butt. Just be prepared to have your human butt roundly kicked for a while until you get the feel for human pilots http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I agree.. thats why I only make the squad or flight leaders vets or aces.. and only a few of them.. most are average and a few rookies, depending on the year the mission is set... In say a flight of 8 I may put in 2 vets 1 ace and the rest average.. or no ace... but yeah I agree with you CG.

I have found that while getting used to the UFO AI and crazy acrobatics helped in flying, human pilots are a completely different proposition.

Human pilots dont pull the crazy flaps down Yak/LaGG loop behavior for example (since human pilots actually black out!) but make a lot more used of e-tactics.

Offline is a T&B game, online has a lot of dogfighting, but has a large number of B&Z flyers.

Human players are also far less omnipotent, and cant see directly behind them like the AI, so are far far easier to sneak up on and shoot! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Kind of off topic but somewhat related. When I make large B-17 formations in the FMB I set some of them to an empty loadout. If I don't, one pass is usually all I get unless I come in VERY, VERY, VERY fast and VERY oblique, which makes it next to impossible to hit. With some of them set to empty there is still a lot of lead flying around but if I get in and out quickly I can get some kills.

i dont go online. 4 reasons

1. i dont stand a chance(can be changed though)
2. laggy for me.
3. i have all seing eye trial(one month only)
and when i try to register at Hyper lobby it says that it has send a registrations code to my email but none have showed up

4. dont wanna pay money for 4.05 pe2 addon.
its supposed to be fun not costly. all seing eye also costs money...

ASE after 1 month asks you if you want to keep using the trial version, and every month after that, ive been using it for about 400 days.

HyperLobby doesnt email you anything, after you tell it your email, just go and type in your user name and password and connect, simple.

This reminds me.I often train duels in QMB just for gunnery. In FW190A4 I got AI SpitV`41 ace easily in 9 on every 10duels.

Yesterday a new player from our squad asked me if we could fly the same. The guy is a rookie but he shot me down several times and he didn`t even had to try hard.Needless to say my ego really hurt that night.Thank God noline wars are not about 1v1 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

judge your costs correctly - check how much you spent on the PC, on your stick, on your video card, how much time you spend (how much movie tickets would have cost for the same amount of time?), how much you spent on other games etc.

Then see how much percentage the Pe2 add-on or ASE would be in there, and tell us about it... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The website for Hyperloby (http://hyperfighter.sk) requires a confirmation email but the Hyperlobby client/server browser doesn't (unless it's changed in the last version or two). You don't need to register to download the client software, just d/l and install.

When you start it up, put your choice of user name and password in. If the user name is already taken you'll get a message advising the password is wrong, if your chosen user name is available you'll be asked to confirm your password by entering in the chat line then enter your email addy in the chat line. After that you're pretty much good to go on HL.
