Just downloaded these wavs from :

and now copied it to my sounds file, so when Windows starts I get the beautiful sound of two Merlins ! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I use the wav files from IL-2 Manager. Startup to open and shutdown to turn off. Gonna check out the Mossie sounds. Kewl!

I never used to think the sounds in FB etc were bad. I used to think they were pretty darn cool. But after hearing stuff like the Merlins that the one thing maybe the only thing that is really bad about the FB series is the sound. I am really hoping we will get [where possible] the real sounds in BoB.

If you set it up so a wav will play when a program starts it will give you an early warning of a trojan or any program starting in the background un benown to you. I have the hollow deck doors sound for that. Been looking for a new sound I'll try these maybey.

Once its set up if you hear the sound while your playing then something is starting up in the background with out you telling it to. Then you know to go look for the cause once out of game, or what ever you might be doing at the time. If you want to use a windows sound I prefure the tada.wav its anoyiing and different enough to catch your attention, ingame.

In 98se I put them in C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA. Then go to Control Panel\sounds and put where you want.

I downloaded this demo wav editing software to cut the wav down to what I wanted.

To make the mossie your windows start-up sound, do you get rid of the old one and replace the mossie sound in the folder, and re-name it to the orginal start-up file name?

No.

Follow the path below and simply browse to the folder you keep the Mossie file in and select it.
