Do you really want feedback or are you showing off? If you have always built your own system I guess you don't need feedback.

Interesting choice of CPU.

But look up the individual component prices on pricewatch and see for yourself.

Its a cool case and nice components but like the previous poster implied the CPU is curious. This may have been put together a while back and they just never sold it. Keep in mind those P4 2.4s were very good overclockers. A solid sink/fan and it might be nice. I would say you're taking a chance though, considering what could be put together now and even more so in the near future. The price is pretty good though.

I am not sure what currency you are quoting so I can't answer your question directly, but why the hell would you even consider 533 mhz? Price differences between 2.4 and 2.8 (800 mhz) are insignificant.

Don't keep your case in sight, hide it well under your desk.

At least I would..

Stick to something with an 800Mhz FSB on the CPU. Post your specs in the tech-support forum with an 'Attention Hunter82 or SteveV' if you want an expert opinion.

rick it has been awhile sine i built myown system, I have not kept up with changes and prices and getting input from anyone with one or more of the above componets never hurts

the price difference is about 35-45 dollors but add another 50 dollors for the board upgrade you will need, but that is a mute point to me as I like to build a balanced sytem and the fastest mem (that I know of) is PC4400 (550MHZ) even if it has DUAL CHANNEL it is still not a true 800 to 800 data echange rate, I look for a MB that will support the highest DDR there is and then chose my CPU accordingly.

on a final note i swong by ALEINWARE to see what they had that was in the same price range, here is what they had.

for $1577 (american)
3.0ghz pentium with 512 cache 800FSB
MOTHERBOARD=ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe
MEMORY= 512 OF PC3200
VIDEO=NVIDIA 5200 ultra 128
HARDDRIVE=80GB Seagate Barracuda Serial ATA 7,200 RPM 8MB Cache
CDR-RW=Plextor PlexWriter Premium 52x32x52x CD-RW - Black

SOUND CARD=Creative Sound BlasterÔ« Audigy 2 - 6.1

The above system looks nice but you must remember " a chain is as strong as it's weakest link" the slowest componet there is the 5200 ultra which will drag the rest of the system down making there speed and size something of a mute point, so for $600 more I get an inferior VID card no DVD burner and 512 instead of 1GB of ram, The HD maybe 20 gigs bigger and have 8MB of cache but IMO i would still rather have the dedicated 10,000 rpm SCSI for gaming.
I am aware that it is 800FSB but like I noted above this is not a TRUE 1 to 1 exchange, for me personely I like to have TRUE balance (533 ram 533 CPU ) and a good vid card that will make use of the afore mentioned. I might be wrong ..it has been a while http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ivan is correct about the 2.4, being a decent overclocker. But id recommend starting with the 800mhz fsb. (i have a 2.4 533 fsb, clocked to a 2.66 for over a year now)Good cpu, the sapphire cards got my guard up tho, Ive had alot of bad luck with them. I run strictly ati Built, as far as nvidia ive had good luck with bfg and pny. (ive built computers as a hobby, for the last 7 years)

I would go with ATI built 9800PRO instead of the SAPPHIRE version. But thats just me http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

here is the next system I am building (planed it a few months ago)

CPU=XP3000 400FSB 512 cache $159

MOTHERBOARD= $59
http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/product_spec.asp?MPSNo=13&PISNo=14

VID CARD=ATI Radeon 9600 XT Video Card $169

SOUND CARD=CHAINTECH SOUND CARD CT-AV710 7.1 Channel VIA ENVY 24PT $26
http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/product_spec.asp?MPSNo=16&PISNo=199

HARDDRIVE=EIDE 60.0GB 7200RPM 8MB BUFFER HARD DRIVE $57

TOTAL $637

I will take the rest from my old system, the above system should make a good mid range rig. Thnx for you input.

And I could still quote my original reply.

WTF with a 533MHZ CPU? Not that it matters really though. Would be harder to find a 533 than it would an 800MHZ these days anyway. - well almost.

Really, though I still build my own systems, I know for sure that nobody can build a system for me cheaper than I can. And this used to be true! But since I can't buy in quantity (I feed kids), you can be certain that their costs are prolly cheaper than mine.

Still, I know exactly what I want. I know where to get it, and I know how to put it all together.

Still costs me more to build a nice system for myself than you can buy already built these days, and I would advise anyome to go for a built system as long as it is built like what they'd build.

Heh, them vendors can afford to buy 100 pcs at a time.

No need in building your own if someone will do it for you, cheaper.

Slammin, I don't know where you are buying your parts, But I have never seen a system with Quality parts built cheaper than I could do it myself. It usually isn't even close.

Please prove me wrong though. I am always looking for new directions to point people that just dont want to build their own.

like i said above..I want TRUE 1 TO 1 data exchange rate and in order to do that I will need PC800 RDRAM 800MHz Memory to go with the 800mhz chip and that will cost me $480 for 1GB of SAMSUNG mem, dual channel ram is not true 1 to 1 exchange but i can still get PC4400 and a CPU at a good cost, like i said above...that is just the way I like to setup my systems.
