With the regularity of dev updates, the length of time they've been working on it and the familiarity of the engine, I'm hoping for a Nov/Dec release. I may be optimistic but I'm trying to be a "cup-half-full" kinda guy.

Here are the updates: http://www.gennadich.com/lang/en/

Actually, the went with a newer grafix/terrain engine, the one from Dstrict I think. Dstrict was making the WW1 Eastern Front Sikorsky sim. Very nice looking stuff. Its put them behind schedule though, but in the long run should be worth it.

I was expecting a release in time for christmas 2006.However since GT merged with D-Strict recently and dumped the IL-2 engine in favor of building their own I expect a 6 month delay.

yeah...we don't know.

it does look like the shift from 1c engine as is to the newer D-strict one will push it back from whatever it was to whatever it is now, release date-wise.

I've bought a WWI flight sim some time ago. It was in the 'cheap' bin. I should know better before-hand. It is absolute the worst flight sim ever. Since you can't play it with a joystick http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif Only with a mouse/keyboard combination. You really have to re-invent controlling your aircraft that way http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
