Happy Birthday fellas........ Hey CG isnt it funny how the time passes? I never ever thought that I would run across a game basically (Yeah I know... it is a sim but ... when you get doewn to it it is just a computer game.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif) that would occupy my time for so long.... and even get more intense as time passes....

When I first started simming (In earnest.. because I dabbled for years.. but I really got the fever in 2001) I balked at spending more than $20 for a joystick.... Photoshop was something that the graphics arts whizzes messed with.... a Yak was a shaggy fourlegged animal from somewhere in the east.... lag was something you got when flying cross country.... and I didnt even know that there were forums.. the closest thing to a forum for me was a chat room.

My how times have changed....

I agree BC. I knew nothing about Russian planes until I started to visit this forum.

I used to play the game offline on and off, but it was when I tried online out for the first time about 6 months ago that I got really hooked.
I bought myself a Microsoft Force Feedback Pro off ebay for 3, and it had a gameport, so I bought an old soundblaster live! also off ebay for 2, purely for the gameport.

IL2/FB/PF is now by far my most played game. Its just so open ended.

BTW Carguy, did you get your gameport working OK? I remember you were looking for an old soundcard with a gameport.

Heheh well you`re a grown up,I`m just a university student heheh. My parents really started to worry when they saw that I`m playin the same game over and over. And ofcourse I did this thing I described one of online sorties to explain what goes on in my room heheh but all I saw was jaw drop and http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif thing.

But ppl are wrong I`m sure.Playin four years and my life is still much more than a PC in me room.Thought many times with concern how are things gonna be when I`ll be 22 and here I am all things good and getting better gradually.

As for the WWII aviation part hehe the only two planes I knew was Yak and IL2Sturmovik.Also thought the German stuff always pwned all but that changed. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Learned many interesting things about WWII although not only.Learned the ways of a pleasant discussion, upgraded my English and made new fahren friends.

The same day you told me that I went on the bids to get that card.Only that people are able to pay more for things than they`re worth. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
Managed to buy one two days ago.Still waiting for the package.

Tim

Its supposed to be Xiola Blue, but with a 3 instead of the 'E' in true 'leet' styleee. Its a reference to a Janes Addiction song on the 'Ritual De Lo Habitual' album 'Three days' if anyone is wondering http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif and its originally a girls name http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

But maybe Xiola is less taxing on the brain :P

Happy Birthday to you too! I only realised it was my birthday when the newsreader said ' and now the news on 8th of July ' http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
