Man, the mention of AOTP and PAW in that preview made me realise how many games still don't implement the stuff those sims first brought to the table.

There is a line between being another Wing Commander wankfest and being an incredibly immersive game, I think Maddox could do with walking a bit closer to the 'player involvement' side.

"The aircraft that I have flown feel roughly equivalent to their real world contemporaries but I am sure there will be some arguments when the game comes out."

How can he think that?

You know what, Clint? I don't always agree with you, but I really missed your 'I'm gonna say what's on my mind' style. Glad you're back http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Didnt any of you see this part??!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Aircraft that are added to the game are literally a €˜who's who€ list of aircraft that fought in the war. Americans will get to fly the F4U Corsair, the F6F Hellcat, F4F Wildcat, SBD Dauntless, Brewster F2A Buffalo, B-25 Mitchell and A-20 Havoc; all with various sub models. In addition some of the more important aircraft will be represented in AI format, like the TBD Devastator, the B-29 Super fortress, the B-24 Liberator and the TBF Avenger.

Flyable B-25s...... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Hmm, maybe I'm confused by Bearcat's post. Why are flyable B-25s supposed to stand out in the preview? According to ubirazz's WIP plane list the PBJ (USN B-25s) are going to be flyable. Am I missing something? I don't see what is funny about pointing out something that until changed is going to be in PF.

Uhhh... we've know that since before PF was even announced. We were wondering if they would make AEP flyable.

I have a big smile http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif when I read this PF Preview on SimHQ in page 4.

"Ok, how does it feel?"
"Well, I have found out quickly that I can€t land on a carrier to save my life. All that practice in Warbirds and Aces High probably helped some but I still tend to plant my aircraft into the back end of the ship a lot. I suspect a lot of people will eat the back end of a carrier several times in the game. In addition I suspect a lot of people will torque themselves off of the carriers. This game is going to be hard, very hard for the realistic minded. Of course, like the original series, everything is scalable. "

Wow... Is that true ?
if FP will close to IL2 original series about "hard- realistic" well... that is a good news for old-hand friends http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Now for the obvious question: can we load B-25s on the Hornet and take off?

Well, since the guy doing the article at SimHQ mentioned the Burma and Rangoon maps, I guess I can say something else.

Two words:

"Tomahawk", and "sharkmouth".

Make of that what you will.
