Holy ****! Is that tank actually jumping!?

Is that a T72, 80 or 90!?

I think it's an M1A1, dude, and yeah, I think it's jumping.

They're dam cool little tanks. They have a stabilizing system in the turret that makes them EVEN MORE ACCURATE while traveling at high speeds.

6 road wheels, SHORTA, straight armour skirts, larger radio antenna, enlarged thermal sleve on the 125mm, short turret bustle. Its a T-80, probably a T-80BM. The gun looks wrong for the U but it wouldn't be the first time I've type mis-identified a T-XX serise http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Not a M1 for sure Boosh. Russian flag on the radio antenna is the first give away http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif. Russian tanks have round turrets, are smaller than NATO style tanks and usually have reactive armour blocks all over them.

NATO style tanks (Leclerc, M1, Challenger/Chieftan, Ariete, Lepoard 2) all generally face flat faced turrets that are squarer and larger, no reactive armour and often look much 'cleaner'

And even with stabilisation tankers prefer to be sitting still to hit long range shots (3-5m). While the gun stabilisation in modern armour is amazing it still isn't perfect. Its usually good enough to engage moving targets from a moving target at ranges in excess of 2km though http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Viewing the properties of posted image, and especially it's name (t-80u%20firing%20in%20midair.jpg), it would be a T80U, I guess http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Have Fun!

That the most intelligent thing I have ever seen http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Well, on these boards anyway http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Must brush up on my tank identification guides. Its harder to tell T-XXs apart than Spitfire marks.

It's not jumping. It's flying back from the recoil. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Lstarosta, someone already corrected him. Why do you feel the need to mock someone for a simple error?

I saw the error as well, but only because of my Operation Flashpoint experience. Tanks just aren't some people's dish of tea.

The difference between the T-80 pictured and an Abrams is that an Abrams so pictured would have hit its target.

As a former Hughes employee, I've seen it...

cheers

True, but in the good old days the T80 would have made it out the carpark without breaking down...

I gotta little movie of a T90 on my comp, goin round an obstacle course to show off it's abilities. My favourite part is when it does this little jump off a ramp, heehee. It's hard to imagine many tonned behemoths actually getting airborne.

Catching air, heavy firepower, lots of armour... must be a Thunderbolt at low level. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif
