Sorry if this has already been asked in the past but couldn't find anything.
Anyway, is it possible to assign a joystick or other controller to the gunners rather than having to use the mouse. Thanks in advance.

Probably not. I never tried this in my three years experience with this sim. The Mouse feels perfectly intuitve and I never attempted otherwise.

Depends on how you look at it.

The game won't allow you to link the gunner control to a DirectX axis.
But a DirectX axis is not the same as a joystick axis.

If you have a joystick that can be programmed to generate mouse input then the joystick could control the gunner.
Some thrustmaster and Saitek (I don't know about CH, but I guess they can do it too) can do this.

There are applications that read a joystick and generate mouse input outside the joystick's drivers.
