View Full Version : Help with Pacific Fighters Graphics

Hey guys im new to the il2 series of games but i love flight sims so i purchased Ultimate Flight Collection from Best-Buy and i Installed both il2 original and the Pacific Fighters Game but i hate the graphics im getting,i can only play the games on low settings in Directx Mode. I wanted to upgrade my pc with a new ati radeon x800gto and i wanted to know how much of a difference my graphics will improve with these pc specs:

Amd Anthlon 3000+ 2.1ghz CPU
1 gig pc2700 ram
Ati x800gto 256mb gddr3 agp 8x
400 watt power supply

And plz tell me a site where i can download some training videos on how to land a plane on an aricraft carrier plz.

The screen shot below of my wingman's P40 is untouched from the game except for the boarder added in photoshop and a bit of cropping.

I have a Radeon X800XT 256mb running on "perfect" settings in OpenGL.
You should run OpenGL for this game, as that is what it is optimised for.

BTW: This screenie was taken with water set to 0, so it would look better with water=2 in the conf.ini settings.

you will get everything except water 3 or 4 which are nvidia settings .. close enough to full graphics

note that you may still get low frame rates if you load missions with ridiculous numbers of planes and ground objects even with a fast video card .. but for normal missions you should get excellent frame rates and excellent graphics
