View Full Version : Masive frame hit 30%

Miki40

I do own a high end PC: FX53, MSI Neo2 and Leadtek 6800 ultra.
After I have installed PF I got a 30% FPS hit.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled everything but no joy. I usually play FB+AEP in perfect mode with FPS of min. 40 max. 80 (2xAA +anist.) .The ini files look the same in both: FB+AEP and FB+AEP+PF. Still something has changed that I do get such poor performance now :min.30 max.50
Any suggestions?

Go to tech support and ask there. It`s probably your system, not PF.

You must be jokeing wright: Here is my spec:

Athlon FX53
1 GB OCZ DDR400
MSI NEO 2
Leadtek 6800 ULTRA
WD Raptor 76GB
Audigy 2

If it would have been any problems with my spec. I also would have had issues with FB as well.
May I suggest that you read more carefully the posts before coming with such clever suggestions?

It sounds like a nice system hardware wise Miki, but SeaFire is correct, would be a good idea to adress this in Community help.

Cheers!

The reason why I have opened this thread is not because I need help with my system. This the fifth system which I have build and probably the best. I score over 12300 in 3dMark03.
I will expect a response from Oleg or the devs. with what clearly has been changed in the code that reduces the PFS.
I have no issues with FB+AEP it€s only FB+AEP+PF which give me a significant drop in FPS at the same settings. It hardly denotes that is a problem with my system.

Fine, you sit here and demand. You may even get a response from the Man himself, since the rest of us are obviously too stupid to be able to help.

I'm afraid Miki is a bit of a troll.

He has spammed this across several of the forum boards, but responds to requests for information about his system by simply repeating that it is so good his problems must be due to PF.

You can lead a horse to water...

It runs great at 1280x1024 on my 1.6 centrino laptop with a radeon 9200 - in excellent mode.

Also on my other two systems with no drop in frames. - one radeon 9800 pro - one 6600gt

I also got a 30% hit in BlackDeath track with PF... but I can't remember that I measured AEP. In FB I had 33fps there and with the same settings I get 26 now. Really bad, as I still have FB on my HDD and it's really a lot smoother. Maybe it's the Perfect they changed with both AEP and PF. In AEP I already noticed it got more hungry.

Computer specs mean absolutely nothing. I had the misfortune of trying to help a fellow with a new P4 3.2Ghz HT all the works tons of ram, etc. His system was running at half speed (just in Windows) compaired to my 2700+. Its all about optimized Windows, no spyware, no junk, good memory management, etc.

If you've eliminated that then we're looking into drivers and the like. This is the most demanding piece of software you will run. PF does have some problems right now...BUT...wait till the patch and work on your system in the meantime.

@ VW-IceFire, you know this, I know this, most of us know this, but I couldn`t be bothered to explain like you`ve done. It seems pretty obvious to me that this guy`s got his mind made up not to hear from anyone but Oleg... Because his system`s too perfect...

We like to help Miki40, but posting this on three forums must make it difficult for you to keep track of the answers http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I suggest you keep it to the Community help forum until all avenues have been exhausted there.

You're not alone, judging from some of the responses that have been posted in your three threads.

Problem is that it is difficult for any cohesive data collection to take place. Not everyone has the patience that you and I have to trawl three forums collating data http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

So far it is known that:

1. PIV and 3. A64 owners have reported similar findings. There are others who claim FPS loss but don't quantify it, nor do they state their system specs.

You have a top notch system, yes, and you probably know how to build them well too. I'm unable to judge the latter! But provision of your Dxdiag as requested, and as you have now promised over in Community Help, will help us and anyone else experiencing this issue draw comparisons and hopefully find a commonality that may be causing this. Aside from PF http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Once the gurus over there declare that no help or succour can be given then it's time to raise a bug report and post your findings here.

I have better CPU,more ram, better vid card but I run the game not anywhere near "smooth as silk".

Riva tuner is the only software besides HL running in the background.

Espacially the sun drops my FPS by 8-12 at a moment.

The fact that all of you guys are ignoring in your rush to defend this game at all costs is that PF is in fact still not right. It's really easy to tell him that it's something with his computer that isn't being done right and normally I'd agree with you. It's funny to see you all get so offended that this guy is having problems and posting in three forums because nothing is working in the other two threads either.

The game runs fairly stable for me but still crashes on occassion in coop games despite the fact that I've followed every suggestion offered here AND IL2, FB, FB+AEP have run with no problems, and get this: NO CHANGES TO MY SYSTEM! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Now, I know some of you are eager to press the reply button and flame me or tell me how perfect the game is on your system but it doesn't change the fact that there are issues with this game still in the stability department, at least on some combinations of hardware.

If it was just me then I could accept the fact that I have some instablity but it's been happening to every member in my flying group and countless others that [/i]never had an issue with FB/AEP.[/i] Oddly, I haven't heard that it happens much on a standalone install.

Please feel free to vent now. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
