So today(Sat, Feb. 25) I went to the Nautlis at Groton CT. We took the Orient Point ferry back. And the ferry takes you right past EB, and being fitted out was a Virgina Class SSN. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif It struck me as suprisingly small. But then I renembered that they a like iceburgs. But still that made my day. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You outta see the Ohio Class SSBNs... they will impress you.

But they have nothing compared to the ship I was stationed on... the USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70), Nimitz Class Aircraft Carrier.

A bit OT, I have a good buddy that was on the USS Connie. He was an SK rating. You gotta have those dd12-50's...lol

Ahh, the USS Constipation, (USS Constellation CV-64). I had a couple of buddies who told me stories of "JP5" jet fuel showers and how the ships keel twists in a 5+ sea state.

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif many JP-5 showers on the destroyer I was on ....not to mention in the coffee, cereal and everything else.

The USS Forrestal (aka The Forest Fire) because of all the fires that constantly spewed forth, I was detailed once on a clean up crew to go clean up after one of those fires, since I was an ET, I had to go up in the island where a lot of the comm gear/radar had burned up. Talk about your burned resistor smell! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif
