Will IL2 Series flight sims support TrackIR 6DOF at some point? Maybe with BoB?

Yes kajr, SoW:BoB WILL support 6DOF.

There's no way to impliments 6DOF in IL2/PF because the cockpits are only '2 dimentional.' They'd need to be totally redone at quite an expense of time and money.

Well it probably is kinda feasible to hook up the zoom FOV to the lean forward back axis .. in fact i suspect someone clever enough could do it with devicelink. this would give you a half baked sort of 6DOF.

but IL2 has no facility to move the point of view sideways or tilt it so true 6DOF would never be possible.

I wonder if it would be 'racheted' through the ten or so forward/back positions?

6DOF is sweet in MCFS2004. I've tried it in BoB:WoV but I can't keep the game running long enough to get a good flavour. It CtD too often. C'est la vie.

So you guys that are using TrackIR 4.0, are you disabling all the other axes except pitch and yaw?

I use a single TIR4 profile for all my games and IL2 only recognizes 2 DOF...

IL2's lack of support for 6DOF makes enabling any other axis moot.

I use the bacic combat pilot profile. Il2 itself is the limiting factor in 6DOF.

In BoB:WoV I use the same profile, and the BoB software recognizes the Track IR 4 and it's ability to use 6DOF.
