Something weird happened to me while I was playing an offline 109 campaign today. After landing and getting the mission completed sign I went off to watch some other dogfights happening away from me.

Well here is this U-2(something or another) sorry Im not very good with Russian plane yet. Anyhow it was a Russian bi-plane, being chased by two German bi-planes. It was taking many MANY hits by the German planes and for awhile showed a LOT of damage, then soon, even while being pounded away by the german fighters it wasnt showing any damage except the pieces that fly off.

Regardless, this plane flew on and on until after about 10 minutes of this the pilot must have gotten killed and the plane rolled over and crashed. What I want to know is, after a while do the bi-planes stop showing damage or is it a tiny bug? Doesnt bother me either way, just thought I would share it with you all.

By the way if you want I saved the track if anyone wants to see it tell me.

I dunno but one test mission had one (1) U~2 down four (4) Fb109 Emails....the U~2 circled real low, below the tops of the isolated open field trees, and all the AI Emails crashed taking turns trying to shoot it down.

That may have been a realistic tactic, flying at landing gear hight, but the loss of four Emails was surprising. Forgot the skill level, probably all were Average, so Averge Email pilots crash, but one would think an Average U~2 would crash too. mmmm

So that's how the Po-2 delivered it's mail!

I always wondered why I had to crawl into craters to find the letters that day! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif

My god! Four emails lost!? Who's gonna write the letters home to all these poor Outlook Expresses?

It's logical. Virtual digital planes carry electronic air mail thru the skies of the net to the Modem air-port of our PCs. Unless they're shot down. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

LC34, I don't recall ever seeing this. If you can repeat it, you might want to post it in Oleg's Ready Room.

Sure I can email it or something. I dont know where I could post it unless someone would come forward and tell me how to do that and where to do it.

Also when/if you watch the track. You'll have to wait a while and skip around the planes. Like I said I was just watching other battles going on while I had the AI fly me home I think.

^^ I'll host it for ya...
If you know which plane and when - do a quick-record while viewing - you'll end up with a piece of the original http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - you can define quick-record under Controls - click to the right of "Quick Start/Save Track" then press the key you want to assign that command to.

Sounds good. You want me to email it to you once I get that little part saved?

That was a tactic of US flying boats in the pacific, particularly late in the war when there weren't as many experienced Japanese pilots.

PBY's would fly, sometimes in the troughs of huge waves & the Japanese pilots would crash into the ocean trying to dive on them.

At least, that's what I read. Wasn't there though. Didn't take any photos. And the food sucked.
