So those of you that have bought these (Bearcat99 you come to mind), what are your thoughts on them? Good, bad or indifferent?

I own the CH pedals, but only because Saitek's were not out yet. My squad mate has a set and really likes them. The CH pedals are really narrow and Im not a small fella with small feet, but the Saiteks are wide and adjustable. For this reason alone I wish I had a set.

One of my squadmates uses CH gear except for the Saitek pedals; he also prefers the wider stance. They work well as a set.

My wife bought me a set for Christmas http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif Apart from a set of pseudo rudder pedals bought off ebay http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif that didn't work particularly well I haven't had pedals, so Saitek's set are new and a world apart.

They are chunky, solid and set wide enough apart to be comfortable. With the supplied velcro they stick to the carpet, but I will probably add a couple of strips for "extra" stick.

I have a Saitek X45 hotas with a version of software that doesn't appear to merge with the pedals version - however, it doesn't matter as I don't use the pedal software, only the driver. Aswell as the rudder movement, it is a cinch to set up with the right toe as brakes and the left toe as flaps. Dabbing the brakes works great and a quick push down puts on enough flap to tighten turns nicely - even used it on carrier take-offs where a gradual extension of flaps creates less drag and so allows a sometimes useful quicker buildup of essential speed.

I wouldn't fly without them.

I dropped $200 Canadian on them, and I'm broke, so that says a lot.

Wouldn't live without them! At first, I was all over the place, skewing left and right, but after 2 weeks, I can shoot the wings off a fly from a hundred feet away.

Make the move, you won't regret it.

Cheers,

I've been thinking of getting these too,I've purchased in the last year....TRIR-4 and X-52 so I guess this is the next step.

I found these at GoGamer (http://www.gogamer.com/Saitek-Pro-Flight-Rudder-Pedals-PC-Accessories_stcVVproductId5589593VVcatId444848VVvi ewprod.htm)for $149.00

Well I'm really liking them... The CHs were good... but the Saiteks aren't bad at all.... very smooth.. and a nice wide stance. They seem to be more precise than the CHs... maybe it is just a wider window on the pots... I seem to have broader control.

I have a couple friends who said that theirs jammed on them; getting stuck along the track. They had to open theirs up just to unjam them. Not sure if they can take the abuse CH pedals can stand up to, though.
