"Only the FAB100 was capable of disabling armored vehicles. Soviet fighter units equipped with P39s did not have armor-piercing ammunition for the 37mm cannon, and the standard issue high-explosive round was not suitable for combating armored targets."
D.Loza: Attack Of The Airacobras, page 316

According to these info, it appears that the Soviet VVS Airacobra units didn't use AP ammo for T9 (at least not widely, if at all). If I'm not mistaken, in game we have included AP ammo for N and Q models (Q10 -- VVS model, Soviet have removed wing guns from that Cobra).

So the G2 isn't the only one with ammo-belt problems. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif

Anyone have some more info on subject?

In PF, it has all HE, doesn't it?

I know it was originally AP/HE, but then it was changed.

At one point, the P-39 WAS equipped with AP and HE shells (1/1). They were removed when IL2;FB was released once Oleg got information that the US sent no AP shells to Russia. Only HE. So now the P-39 and P-63 ONLY have HE shells.

Who needs AP anyway. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif T9 is monster cannon (IMO somewhat inferior to Russian NS37 -- only because ROF) and every aircraft must be heavy damaged when get hit by T9 HE round.

Guys thanks for info. I did not know that AP is removed from belt.
